Second one reminds me of the Brew Metric

How does watches.com keep doing this? I think this is the most egregious example yet. Their watch made with Undone [70s Killy Chronograph] is a BLATANT copy of the Breitling [Top Time Deus]. Just look at the picture, you can't even deny it... Do you guys have any thoughts or other examples?

Why have you posted this, plus a link, three times?

Is this advertising?

[–] cantforgetNJ@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It's called a homage watch. Perfectly fine and nothing to see here. /s

Every major watch company copies popular designs, just look how many submariner homages/copies there are. At least this one has a more subdued colour palette, although I think a white date wheel would look better.

Prob the same generic ETA movement too 🤣

Who cares? As lons as its not a replica, enjoy whatever watch you want , lifes to short to be mad at homages lol

Calling this blatant is a stretch and that’s being nice.

Have you not seen the countless Seiko, Casio etc that are made to look like speed masters or sea masters or submariners or Daytonas or such anyway?

It’s a common thing.

I'd rather wear the watch that does not have the douchey Deus logo.

[–] ElPwnero@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Honestly, who cares? A breitling is still a breitling and at the end of the day the owners of this one or a Sugess aren’t fooling anyone, and they probably don’t care.
This is like Reeeeeing at the 300C for copying Bentley.

[–] EBXLBRVEKJVEOJHARTB@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They made it better by adding a date window

[–] evilpeter@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Sheesh. Wait till you see the thousands of Rolex design rip offs.

[–] gee___thanks@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Undone is trash but this is less blatant than what Long Island Watch has been doing for years.

[–] joecooool418@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The original was ugly enough to begin with.

[–] Neptune502@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Question OP: What exactly did they copy from Breitling? Because i see nothing i would call "copy"

So many watches look like so many other watches. C'mon bruh.

[–] Marty_McFlay@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I don't like it. Because: a) I don't love mecha-quartz, b) I don't love the tinted exhibition back, c) I don't love the execution by either of those brands. But 90% of the watches I like are homage watches. Fashion is derivative, they're not really taking business from Breitling at that price point and it may even get some people who might otherwise buy a fake to buy the homage instead.

[–] CaffeLatteIV@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What is the model of the brietling?

Wtf? There's not even a date dude, watches can look similar without it being "blatant copying"

[–] Jackms64@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

IMHO there are worse offenders out there than this, including some of the favorites on Reddit, like CW..
