In the Homelab and in the real world I occasionally need to configure a old device that is using outdated web setup pages. Some require special plugins, some require old version of Java, some only work in IE, some are using old TLS versions etc.. etc..

What is the best way to go about this?

Right now I just keep an Windows 7 VM handy laying around. But I was wondering if their is anything better options.

I keep a Win XP vm around. There is also an extension for Chrome I've used a few times called "IE Tab" it emulates IE 7 thru 11
