It seems people are upvoting this because they see Bernie and assume that OP has good intentions here.

Op cited a legitimate source below with good context. All that said, the poorly clipped video snippet of Bernie saying something that seems innocuous, but flies in the face of reality without EXTENSIVE discussion and explanation (like in OP's video), is not being shared in good faith. The forum Bernie and AOC shared was not the place for nuanced rhetoric. OP knows this.

OP is doing the old bait and switch here.

Bernie Sanders is very clearly disagreeing with Franscesa Albanese. Am I missing something?

Yes. A lot. Bernie sanders isn't going to go into the nuances and issues with trying to convince 36,000+ people in a crowd why "Hamas isn't a state" and why it's not technically a "war."

You're being obtuse in assuming that he should. You're also generating dissent through a deceptively short video that doesn't present the comments which led up to that snippet of a sentence, or what he said afterward.

So, what you're missing is fairness, context, nuance, and probably honesty.

Have you watched what Francesca Albanese said? Bernie Sanders directly contradicts her.

Bernie did not say anything after this which changes him disagreeing with Francesca. The clip is the full context.

Yes. I did. You know what else is relevant? She wasn't there in that moment. READ WHAT I SAID.

He can't deliver that nuance to 36,000 people in the moment. Get out of here with your bear baiting. It's disingenuous.

You misunderstand. This is not about Bernie denying there is a genocide going on which he did a bit later in the video.

This is about Bernie directly contradicting international law, by ascibing a beligirent occupier the right to self defense which it does legally not have.

That is not nuanced, that is advocating for violation of international law on behalf of Israel.

Nice four seconds video, I guess? Very smooth how it cuts off mid-sentence, not weird at all.

I like how we can feel completely confident that no valuable context is lost, and that it allows us to quickly reach our conclusions and move on with our lives. Whoever has an attention span greater than four seconds these days anyway.
