Can I stop dribbling. Toss the ball into my teammates back and then catch it and continue to dribble?

Two times I’ve been playing and they called thjs a travel. That’s why I’m asking

No, it is not a travel. As long as you establish a pivot foot before passing the ball, you can catch it and continue dribbling without it being considered a travel.
