Please do not post the "good friend" or similar copypasta

Our galactic citizens have requested more specific rules, so here are a few.

The general idea is, if you're looking here for rules, you're probably someone who doesn't need to have them spelled out. You're fine. But anyway:

  1. This is a community for Star Wars memes. This means typically screenshots of Star Wars media with some text or context that's meant to be funny and/or thoughtful. All SW media is welcome: movies, games, comic books, fanart... Other kinds of content, like video links or meta memes (about this community, or Lemmy), are fine as well, just keep it on topic.

  2. We are all friends here, and love (sometimes love to hate) Star Wars. Be nice to each other.

  3. As fans of fictional media, we can be passionate. If you very strongly disagree with something or someone, take a deep breath before reacting. Anger leads to the dark side!

  4. Everything in Star Wars has happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far away, and it's a rich universe of millions of words and millions of years of history. So current Earthly matters really shouldn't concern us here. In other words, leave politics, philosophies and convictions behind the door. This applies even if it's about something related to Star Wars.

  5. Original content is preferred. Reposts are fine, just please limit to a maximum of 3 per day, per citizen. It is recommended, but not required, to mark original memes as (OC) and reposts as (repost).

  6. Local mods are the Jedi council. They may take actions that are necessary to maintain peace and stability of the Republic, even beyond the rules outlined here. Follow their guidance.

  7. Regular rules of the Lemmy.world instance apply.

You need to add his Jedi thesis analysing "The inherent Dycotomy in Cautionary tales: The tragedy of Darth plagueis the wise"

Those republic credits were clearly well spent per semester

Can we add to Luke that he never picked up the power converters? Also Future Father is not exactly an achievement when you literally don't know that they exist until they are adults - and they try to kill you.

Caesar cried at a statue of Alexander the Great when he was 30ish because Alexander accomplished so much more than Caesar much earlier in life. Caesar ended up being a late bloomer and completely changed the world in his 40s. Lesson: never give up your genocidal ambitions I guess

I think Genghis Khan was in his 50s when he conquered China and was campaigning in Europe

And Donald Trump destroyed the greatest civilization in human history in his late 70s.

People who use age as an excuse are the real losers.

Thank you, having reached my 50s, that's my call. But I'll just conquer my house and campaign in the garden.

They really do, I hadn't noticed this before

Maybe the looser thing is about Luke's sister kissing morals?

[–] rauls4@lemm.ee 2 points 13 hours ago

Hmm. Maybe.

on the Jedi Council

Yes, but? Finish the sentence please?

[–] psx_crab@lemmy.zip 14 points 1 day ago

Standing on the Jedi Council 's dead bodies

That'll do.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 15 points 1 day ago (2 children)

How can one be on the council but not called "Master?!" It's unfair!

[–] drolex@sopuli.xyz 5 points 1 day ago

There is precedent for it. Baiter the Jedi was on the council but never got the title of master, for reasons unknown.

Shove it, n00b

OP: Not a pilot, never kissed anybody

Up! Up you go!

Luke is the 3rd most powerful Jedi at the start of Episode 4. 2nd by the end. 1st after Yoda dies in 3.

Plus Luke blew up a Death Star in Episode 4. Vadar has never blown up one Death Star.

[–] myrrh@ttrpg.network 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

...he blew up a droid control ship; that kind of counts...

[–] lucullus@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 22 hours ago

It totally counts Doku

[–] dalekcaan@lemm.ee 6 points 1 day ago

To say nothing of his successful career as a moisture farmer.

[–] MNByChoice@midwest.social 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Luke is a land owner. (Assuming he inherited Uncle Owen's farm.)

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Luke had no formal education or even attended any special schooling ... he was trained by a Jedi Knight for a few weeks or months and later by a Master for a few more weeks or months

Anakin had a private tutor / mentor and access premier educational / knowledge resources in this part of the galaxy from the time he was a child and was fully grown

Luke grew up with nothing

Anakin grew up with everything

[–] Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 day ago

Both Obi-Wan and Yoda held the master title

[–] MNByChoice@midwest.social 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Anakin grew up with everything

Former slave. Sure he go out of it by age 8, but he spent a lot of important years as a slave.

Yes, he did end up with lots of help.

[–] myrrh@ttrpg.network 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

HE'S A PERSON AND HIS NAME IS ANAKIN!

[–] MNByChoice@midwest.social 1 points 10 hours ago

Oh wow. I totally had avoided trying to spell Anakin. I didn't even have a Vader in there... I am not going to apologize to the mass murderer though. Fuck Anakin.
