Woke up to see that my Kansas City Chiefs got a OT. This pleases me, as they also traded for another tackle in the offseason.

I'm glad Veach is loading up a little there so the training camp battle can produce the best option. It's clearly one of the weakest, if not the weakest position on the team.

Really wishing the steelers had a second round pick this year

[–] TORFdot0@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

Second round Sanders lmao

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Wow is Shedeur slipping to round 2?

[–] Tugboater203@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

It seems likely now that the Giants didn't grab him

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Oh damn what a shame. Such a promising young man lost to the utter horror that is the Raiders.

No. 5 Pick: Mason Graham, DL. Browns.

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

No. 2 pick: Travis Hunter, CB, WR. Jags.

Man that feels like a lot to trade up a couple slots.

Cleveland ends up taking DT Graham with the swap.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Yeah, but it's the Browns and Jags, man.

They're not going to get any better without taking big swings.

Two TE's and a RB in the first round?

The heck are these GM's doing?

[–] trashboat@midwest.social 3 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Brad Holmes caught so much flak for getting Gibbs and LaPorta so early in the draft, and maybe I’m just not in the right places to hear the public criticism but the irony of this situation is not lost on me

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 2 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

I'm not saying Gibbs and LaPorta are bad picks, necessarily.

But historically it's harder to find better value at premium positions later in the draft, and TE and RB are not premium positions.

[–] trashboat@midwest.social 2 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Oh don’t get me wrong I agree with you. I just remember the general sentiment being overwhelmingly negative towards the Lions for making those choices, and to see other GMs making similar position selections this year is humorous to me

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 2 points 21 hours ago

Makes sense. I hope those players work out for their teams. We'll see. :)

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And Warren wasn't the first TE was the surprise for me.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

I just can't get over that the two best TE's ever were 2nd and 3rd round picks respectively.

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 day ago

No. 1 pick: Cam Ward, QB. Titans.

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

No.18 Pick: Grey Zabel, OL. Seahawks.

[–] Bojack411@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

I dig it. We can get a fast deeo threat WR in the next round and another OL then beef up the defense. Either a CB or safety. Or both or a DL. 4 more picks tommorow lets gooooo!!

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago

No. 17 Pick: Shemar Stewart, DL. Bengals.

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago

Trade! Jags trade for #2 pick from Browns who get the 5th pick.

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What an awful fucking start

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Agreed.

Wild to see a friggin' running back taken in the top 10.

Bummer that a good Missouri Tiger is stuck in the Jets organization.

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

No. 28 Pick: Tyliek Williams, DL. Lions.

[–] TheCelticPirate@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Hey Browns, I'll trade you. Your Michigan DT pick for our Ohio State DT pick. Seems logical.

[–] trashboat@midwest.social 3 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

You know anything about Tyliek? I’m glad we’re shoring up the defensive line but I don’t know much about this guy (or the entire draft class for that matter)

[–] TheCelticPirate@lemmy.world 3 points 22 hours ago

No, I'm in the same boat as you. Outside of the Michigan guys, I'm pretty clueless. Big guy from big school is usually a safe bet though.
