Knew that scoring 2 goals had to have a downside

Another case of VAR interjecting to try and make a game more competitive.
I honestly don’t agree with that, it’s nasty but there have to be some mitigations for the fact he’s coming from behind. There has to be some allowances for legitimate football actions that result in things like that.
There’s our weekly horrendous decision… his ankle is already planted, it’s not high. How?
bruh
All he's trying to do is shield the ball.
Should be withdrawn after the game and an apology issued by UEFA and VAR. not even a joke at this point
Defenders hate this one trick!
Just slide your foot under the defenders foot before it comes down for an easy red card.
Are some peoples bones made out of cardboard in this thread? Might sprain your ankle if you are unlucky but no one is breaking their shin or ankle from that.
Man Utd have had sooooo many bad calls against them this year. It is tough to watch.
surprised my the amount of ManU flairs agreeing with the (correct) red card also surprised by the amount of neutral flairs who believe that accidental ankle breakers have a free pass on the pitch
This is one of those letter of the law pitfalls. Clearly not intentional but could be dangerous none the less. Sometime when two players are going for a ball one will be late and deliver an unintentional stamp.
This basically happened to Marcelo. Completely innocent move but with horrible results. It's a red.
Owen Hargreaves thought this wasn’t a red “in a million years”. I worry what he saw, perhaps he should pay a visit to Specsavers.
If the letter of the law says this is a red, the letter of the law should be changed.
Elbow to the ear and step on the ankle not a red? What the fuck are you smoking?
That’s a harsh red
As a Liverpool fan who is loving the outcome of this game, this should defo not be a red
Fucking shocking decision
I knew it was going too well.
WHAT ???
Fucking rubbish decision he’s not even looking at the player
Absolutely braindead officiating. He steps over and the guy puts his foot there. No fucking footballing awareness.
Games gone.
Not intentional whatsoever
it looks so much worse in slowmotion, i cant understand why they dont show it in real time.
What a fucking joke
It's not intentional, but that was a rough looking stamp.
Unfortunate as he's shielding the ball and not really looking at where the player is, but probably a red by the laws of the game
Not great for the confidence
Was confused at first thought there was nothing in it but my god thats fucking awful to look at
Idiot.
Idk.. He just tried making himself big and accidentally stepped on his leg. I know how it looks, but 0 intention and purely unlucky imo
This is Manchester United
Well deserved
Wtf happened lol
Just when we were having a good match ...
Clearly accidental, but not much choice for the ref.
How is that a red dude? Dangerous play??? Wtf?
Nah I'm done with football
By what fucking rule is that a red?
Rather unlucky, but yeah that’s a red.
Ridiculous
it’s unlucky but has to be a red i think
This is fair enough, clearly an accident but also dangerous, but honestly at this point any time there's a VAR check I'm sure the worst possible outcome for us will be the one that's chosen
I mean what do you want from the ref there
it hurts to watch it.
Wasnt his intend but i agree to show red.
The officials are desperate for Copenhagen to win this match
