I know his full quote acknowledges the vibe of the arena, but I gotta be in the minority that thinks MSG is still wildly overrated. I've been to two games there and I actually think it's the least enjoyable place to watch a game of the six NBA arenas I've been to.

NYers make a big deal of ordinary things if they're in NYC.
I honestly don't get the hype about msg at all. If someone didn't tell you it was cool before you saw it.. you wouldn't think it was amazing.
