Hi all I understand this might be niche question but maybe someone can help.

I’m celebrating a milestone and will be buying a new watch at the end of the month. The end goal is a Rolex Submariner but I’m not delusional thinking I can get one from an AD at retail so I’m going to forget it for now.

My question is is it possible to get any of the others at rolex boutiques? I’m tossing up between

  • Datejust (Steel case with black or blue dial)
  • Explorer 1
  • Oyster perpetual ( steel case black dial)

I’m going to email and call the boutiques closer to the date but thought I should set expectations now.

Otherwise if I can’t get one I’m just going to go back to trusty Omega and buy a seamatser from the AD without any of the Rolex hassle.

I also don’t want to deal with Grey market or second hand and hence why want to go to an AD

Thanks!

Go to the Rolex AD and talk to them directly, the sooner the better. Do it in person, don't email, be direct but respectful. Tell them what milestone you're celebrating. Good luck.

Go to the AD, have a conversation with them and put your name down for the watch you want. Don't buy one you only half want.

I've been down on a list for 2 years but I don't care because I'm not buying one of there other models I don't want.

Check out the AD thread over in r/Rolex and search for Australia. It will give you an indication of wait times based on purchase history.
