It's almost as if the Zebras just wanna ruin the fun. Imagine if this was the first time a kid was able to see Giannis in person? All that time, money, and effort to see your favorite player just for them to get the boot.

To eject Giannis over that, but a few days ago Draymond Green is allowed to run and yell at refs for 45 seconds and gets no tech for it is just a gross display of abusive power.

The only thing softer is complaining about it on the internet 🤡 Spurs fans don’t claim this guy so his opinion is separate.

It's literally in the rule book that you can't flex on someone. I agree it's cool to see Giannis flex on someone, but you can't blame the ref for applying the rules.

Another good one is after the Raptors traded Vince Carter to the Nets. The Raps had a game against the Nets, probably the first one after the trade, and Vince was messing around with Mo Pete and gave him a light smack, in like a friendly ex-teammate way. Then Mo Pete gave him a smack back, also in a friendly way, and got ejected because the ref's missed the first part of the interaction.

That referee needs to be called out by the league. It was stupid.

[–] Happy295@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That's a clear taunting technical on Giannis. Everyone's being weird in these comments. That's been a technical foul in the NBA for a long time now.

[–] D-redditAvenger@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah and the ref who did that should be fired. They should not think they are bigger then the game.

I dunno if Stewart has children, but if he does they will never fully emotionally recover from seeing what happened to papa.

I'd say the only fair punishment is the Bucks have to use the other Antetokounmpo's till all star break, while Giannis sits courtside writing I'm sorry over and over on a chalkboard

I'm convinced that when Draymond runs up on refs, he's actually asking about how their day is going and how's their kids/family/etc because he keeps up with all of them in his offtime. He's just gesticulating and making faces to put on a show for the cameras, but since he knows we can't actually hear him he just has a normal ass conversation.

Too many refs seem to be too narcissistic. In reality in all sports, in the best officiated events, the refs are barely noticeable and they're not factors in the outcomes.

Shawn Kemp would have been sent directly to jail

nah I watched it it was clear as day and the right call. this sub has a bias against refs.

I’m a Pistons fan and that was dumb.

Techs and flagrant calls have ruined the flow of the game. I hate how a clear basketball move when you inadvertently swing your elbow at someone is two shots and the possession. Techs and flagrant calls should only be given out when a player is leaking like he just escaped a drive by shooting, other than that, play ball.

[–] njb2017@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That's the type of tech that the NBA will let stand today on Nov 9th but would rescind if giannis was close to 15 with a month left on the season

[–] SHRLNeN@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

NBA, Silver, stop fucking talking to us about player accountability and how they need to show up if you're gonna kick them out for doing the shit we want to see.

I guess he wasn't lying about wanting to turn the NBA into NFL.

I implore anybody surprised by Giannis being ejected in such a ridiculous manner to listen to the “Whisteblower” podcast.

Given the context of the rampart corruption amongst NBA officials, last night’s ejection is simply par for the course.

Utter disgrace to the game

[–] girth_br00ks@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Meanwhile Draymond is allowed to outright chew out a ref for 5 minutes and nothing is done.

[–] gettinDINWIDDIT@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Y’all’s reaction to this is so weird lol taunting will always be an easy tech. People saying “they’re grown men, they can taunt!!!” have you watched basketball at all? We see these “grown men” get pissy about dumb irrational shit all the time. Dudes wanting to start fights over unwritten rules like someone scoring when they’re up a lot, wanting to fight because they didn’t like the way they got bumped etc.

If you don’t think taunting without repercussion would easily lead to fights, I have a bridge to sell you. The league isn’t made up of perfectly rationale and mature adults lol

There really should be a review team for ejections that can overturn it. Its insane how many ejections happen cause the refs got their feelings hurt.

Tim Duncan getting ejected for laughing may be the funniest ejection in all of sports lol

[–] CactusHooping@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago
[–] knowitall190@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I knew soft ejections were a thing

[–] The_real_triple_P@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

And then we got draymond just kickin nuts and doing the MLK speeches on these refs and they never bat an eye

[–] uber939393@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Draymond must be snitching on other players fr.

[–] prawalnono@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Fans who paid to attend the game should sue for not allowing the guys they came to see play.
