It's almost as if the Zebras just wanna ruin the fun. Imagine if this was the first time a kid was able to see Giannis in person? All that time, money, and effort to see your favorite player just for them to get the boot.

To eject Giannis over that, but a few days ago Draymond Green is allowed to run and yell at refs for 45 seconds and gets no tech for it is just a gross display of abusive power.

Maaaan they just need to let players taunt. Bring back some fire to the game. This soft shit is annoying. I want bruhs ready to wing on each other lol. I need that Shawn Kemp pointing and laughing shit.

[–] MajinAnonBuu@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Tatum clapping his hands last year?

[–] Throwawayhobbes@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Channel Joey. The legend lives.

So, serious talk, what‘a the reprimand for a shitty ref? Something like “Hey, you don’t ref game for the team/player you fucked up.”?

I don’t remember any ref ever getting canned. At least, not a high-profile one.

Lol I like Giannis but the state down is auto tech constantly it’s nothing like the Tim Duncan one. Giannis should know better or league needs to change rules . The Jax Hayes tech on using a natural swinging motion that cost the team going into ot was worse , I seen a few worse this year

[–] GriegVeneficus@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

They just wanted to set precedent that superstars are held accountable in a game they knew the Bucks would win anyway. This way they can give him 80 free throws next game and shrug.

[–] grandzu@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Well, they're still giving him 30 seconds to shoot a free throw.

[–] M00semeat60@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

It would be funny if nba guys just said fuck it and played with no swag or fun. Just pure fundamentals. No dunks no crossovers two hand passes only

NFL is soft to with taunting and celebrations.

Can't upset anyone these days

[–] JiggaMan2024@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

They’ve toned down the penalties a ton. Players are allowed to do much more shit. Back in the 2000’s if a team did a choreographed dance celebration that would’ve been automatic flag.

[–] Greaves6642@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (9 children)

Porzingis and Horford got technicals in consecutive games for dunking and not landing immediately. Both sprint dunk and a full swing off the rim. They both landed on the 2nd swing back

[–] LiftHeavyFeels@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (5 children)

Christian wood on the Lakers got one on a fast break dunk where his body was literally parallel to the floor while holding on the rim.

Refs wanted him to let go and fall on his back

[–] Greaves6642@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Awful, like absurdly awful. I don't know how they keep making the refs worse year for year

ADAM F**KING SILVER - DO YOUR GODDAMN JOB!

[–] lundej16@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He’s making buttloads of money for the owners. He is.

[–] Zeckzeckzeck@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

He's taking responsibility for the All Star game being boring, what more can you ask of the man!

[–] Content_Explorer949@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I don't wanna inserting bad ideas in someone's head but he could introduce a new way to popularize the WNBA.

League Pass owner will only be able to watch one NBA game for every WNBA game they streamed.

How do you like my idea?

P.S. Adam, if you introduce this I'm gonna sue you for royalties.

[–] Alexcox95@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

and only aces and Liberty games count

[–] H3J1e@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I will not believe the games are not fixed until there a severe repercusións for these kind of arbitrary techs that swings the whole game.

I think the ref was annoyed with Giannis already and jumped at the opportunity to T him up again.

[–] WeefBellington24@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)
[–] Bard_Wannabe_@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

That's what he thought about Giannis, too.

[–] panchettaz@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (5 children)

Imagine Patrick Mahomes got ejected from a game for taunting after 22mins lol. Chiefs fans would storm the field.

Almost every single game there's serious legit complaints about the refs on both sides.

Silver needs to fix it, stop worrying about the All Star game.

[–] tyto@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Josh Allen just got a taunting flag for pointing at a guy, I hate that it's a penalty in any sport.

I can't even remember the last time I saw a player ejected in the NFL, there are times when you are sure it's coming and then it's not even a personal foul. When they do happen it's always for head hunting. Comparing this, side by side with that, makes the NBA look fucking pathetic.

[–] thegodfaubel@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

There were 16 ejections last year in the NFL last year alone (including Packers Quay Walker in the final game)

Edit: also 7 so far this year (2 were in preseason tho)

[–] Westcoastchi@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

And I'm sure that almost all of them were because of a physical infraction (I do know that the Quay Walker ejection was due to him shoving the Lions trainer).

maybe giannis should stop racking up those techs. he got ejected cause this was his second tech of the game lmao. or i guess at least ask him to keep it to one tech a game if you have to have him act like this every game.

Refs have genuinely been atrocious this year. I've been watching whole-ass slates and see multiple erroneous, game-tilting calls per-game.

With how widespread sports betting is now v. Donaghy years, you have to imagine...

It's because the refs are involved with gambling

[–] Hownowbrowncow8it@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)
[–] unexpectedwonton@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Dude did you see the refs in the gsw nugs game? Horrible too

[–] HoorayPizzaDay@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (11 children)

Didnt someone get ejected for passing the ball back to the ref in a totally normal way last year?

[–] jimdotcom413@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (6 children)

Not sure if this is the one you’re talking about but your comment reminded me of Kyle Lowry

[–] dontusethisforwork@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

pfft unbelievable

[–] BlooregardQKazoo@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (3 children)

I love how the ref wasn't paying any attention to Lowry, as evidenced by the fact they never saw the ball, yet they felt confident tossing Lowry.

Did you see the tech on porzingis for "hanging on the rim" the refs are on some BS this year

[–] ALLDaySKiiLL@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Lowry got ejected for passing ball to ref last year

[–] hankbaumbachjr@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (5 children)

Hot Take! Officials should be ejecting *more* players for complaining about calls, especially early on in the season.

That said, taunting should be 100% legal in the NBA. These are pros, man up and play better if you don't want a guy to dunk in your face and flex on you.

No more technicals for taunting, lots more technicals for players & coaches demonstrably bitching about the officiating. If you think it's a bad call, [challenge it...aight!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6jjmF2ySt0&t=3s&ab_channel=TrOllinM4sTEr)

[–] WisdumbGuy@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Taunting would 100% lead to thrown fists and we don't need that. But the level of censure right now is ridiculous

Taunting is part of the entertainment. Im surprised the league wouldn’t allow it.

FUCK THE REFS

[–] Westcoastchi@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

The taunting tech needs to go away. If as an opponent you don't like it stop him, same thing as pitchers in the MLB who feel the need to beam hitters for pimping HRs. These are grown ass men out here and a player celebrating afterwards should not be a reason for dismissing a player from the game. Adam Silver needs to grow some balls and fix this shit.

[–] yetagainitry@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (4 children)

There needs to be league punishment on the ref for this. If teams get fined for sitting healthy superstars, refs should be fined for soft ejections of superstars. Imagine you paid to see that game and giannis is ejected for being excited after a dunk. Ridiculous

When you realize they had money on the game or were told to cover (which the pistons did, curiously) it all makes sense.

[–] Mindofmierda90@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I’m wondering why the league allows the refs to do this.
