Loopring
A blockchain research organization pioneering the future of finance. Loopring is building protocols, infrastructure, and user-facing DeFi products atop Ethereum, envisioning a digital economy that empowers its participants with full and guaranteed self-custody of their assets.
DeFi doesn't have to be a trade-off between security and performance. With this in mind, Loopring's Layer2 solutions work in synergy with Ethereum Layer1, enabling low-fee, high-speed, Ethereum-secured platforms for trustless trading, swapping, liquidity providing, and payment.
Ongoing projects led by Loopring:
-
Loopring Protocol: powered by zkRollups on Layer2, enables Ethereum to scale effectively without sacrificing Ethereum Layer1 guarantees
-
Loopring Layer2 Dex: An orderbook and automated market maker (AMM)-based non-custodial decentralized exchange (DEX) built atop Ethereum using the Loopring Protocol (v3).
-
Loopring Wallet: A mobile app for Android and iOS featuring an Ethereum Layer1 and Layer2 social recovery smart wallet.
Glad to see stuff like this.
So good to see Loopring starting to share. Excellent interview.
Nice, this is excellent exposure.
Glad lrc getting exposure like this. One step atta time
Commenting to help before I watch the video 🫡
I like that Loopring never promote their own token in stuff like this. They promote the underlying tech and their vision for a defi future
Nice one Byron
Lauer sucks and is a plant. But I’m also happy to see B man spreading the word.
Don’t want to hate on Byron but I feel like he couldn’t exactly expand and fully answer Dave’s higher level questions about Loopring. I wanted to hear more technical answers on zero proof because I feel like more people need to understand how that exactly works. He more or less regurgitated what he’s previously said on X and things on a basic level.
100%. If I recall correctly, these more technical questions were handled primarily by Brecht historically. This was before, of course, his departure to co-found Taiko.
It seemed Byron here was not able to technically answer the question about explaining zero knowledge proof technology. The post-editing (the somewhat abrupt cut in the video) also makes this clear. Many people have used the familiar example of going to a bar, and a bouncer checking an ID.
To the extent this is an example of Loopring expanding their marketing, it seems to me that either: 1) B’s going to have to be more ready to field technical questions of this sort or 2) Loopring should consider adding someone better situated to do so. Or perhaps both. Especially from an inspiring-confidence point of view. After all, as B emphasized, Loopring is a consumer facing protocol…
The downvotes to your on-point observation is yet another example of how this community—much like man my GME-focused communities—simply downvote criticism, even if it is constructive and from a POV of helping the project do better. It’s truly embarrassing.
Hopefully better to come on these areas.
Yeah I mean it's hard to say.. you want to keep it somewhat surface level that the general public can understand, it was only a 40 minute podcast. I'm just happy to see the B out and about dropping vids. Nice to see the man himself!
I'm not 100% sure how zero proofs work.. but isn't it basically the fact that Loopring has always been right about who has what coins, and so Ethereum trusts Loopring to tell the accurate position?
I just found out that Loopring doesn't actually have a wikipedia page, which is kind of poor. I think we should crate one which explains exactly how this thing works by pulling together all of the information available online.
My momma always said, “loopring is the way”
Is that a purple circle I see?
This is massive isn't it? I don't think I've even seen Byron before, just as an avatar.
