Maxey isn’t as good of a facilitator (yet) but he’s a better scorer especially from 3 which is pretty much the most important thing for teams in the modern NBA

Man if Lamelo could use his size to finish at the rim it’d be so great. One thing he’s really been lacking since coming into the league. That and health.

[–] HOU52k@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Lonzo had the same issue

[–] hezzanity247@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Do the other two not have better-quality teams around them, I mean JT Thor is getting quality minutes on the Hornets.

[–] n0th1ng10@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They’re both way better than Melo ball. Bsll is good but definitely not on either of their levels.

Man, I feel like LaMelo’s been so hurt by that Charlotte ecosystem. His teammates largely suck, and the team’s been bad which has allowed him to develop bad habits (get shot happy, play lackadaisically, etc.)

Tyrese Halliburton has been better since the start of last season.

[–] DomDomRevolution@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Bum ass Haliburton can’t even shoot 50/40/90. What a scrub

Honestly I don't think so. Obviously if Maxey continues scoring 25+ shooting nearly 50/40/90 for the rest of the season we can revisit the conversation. But for now no

Is Jokic better than Andrew Wiggins?

Pick don’t matter.

This is the only way I see it. Even though Lamelo could have the highest ceiling he may never reach it.

Probably, but LaMelo is the most entertaining to watch imo (biased af)

[–] IntroductionNearby71@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

i'd say so. lamelo also speaks like he has a negative iq. i couldnt imagine being a hornets fan and having to listen to him attempt english after every game

[–] Rejex151@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We are 7 games into the season and Lamelo had what might be some of the worst games of his career in some of those first few.

I would still take Lamelo's overall averages over either player but Hali is having a hell of a start to this season. Keep sample size in mind lol

[–] twovles31@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

3 excellent players, hopefully Lamelo can get some better players around him and stay healthy. Health is the only thing that can hold Lamelo back.

[–] person_73@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It’s 7 games in and Lamelo only got cleared to play 2 months ago. He missed the off-season rehabbing.

[–] Im__Ron__Burgundy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They’re also both more than a year older than him. Haliburton almost 2 years.

[–] Ramu_1798@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fuck the box scores, do you really think Lamelo isn't going to be cooking playing next to a league MVP? He's going to average 12 apg in his sleep.

Lamelo vs Haliburton might be a discussion, but I personally do not like to be involved in Father-Son rivalries.

[–] ComeAtMeYo@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Lamelo ain't in the same stratosphere as the other two at this point in time. Hali's a bit better than Maxey.

[–] Askia-the-Creator@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

LaMelo has some trash games this season, but he also dealt with an ankle injury all last season. If his 3pt shooting comes around, I'm taking LaMelo, tho Hali is not far behind. Haliburton shouldn't have dropped as far as he did and I'll continue to be bitter about Washington skipping him.

[–] Specific-Abalone-843@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Do you actually watch games or just box scores?

[–] pln1991@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Tyrese was in Morbius, and LaMelo wasn't. Easy comparison.

[–] batmans420@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Eh yes and yes so far this season but they're all comparable

[–] r_u_b_z@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think that's pretty obvious at this point. Other than size, I don't see something LaMelo being better than Hali at any other thing

[–] hotnewroommate@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

No I swear tyreses only skill is his speed. Once that goes…

[–] Agnk1765342@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s not even a little bit close. Do you have any idea how insane putting up 20/10 with 40% from 3 and an AST:TO ratio of 4:1 is? Chris Paul is the only player that’s ever come close to that and he’s never been as good of a 3 point shooter as Haliburton. Tyrese is literally the perfect modern guard, unless his age 22 and so far 23 seasons are somehow massive flukes he will win an MVP or two when he gets a supporting cast that can actually defend. I’d trade every last pick we got for Mitchell and Rudy for Haliburton.

[–] electricHats75@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah, primarily because of the defensive end. Melo started a little slow coming back from injury, but he did lock up Hali on the last play. During the draft there was talks of the warriors looking at Hali at #2 and I don’t know how the fucking pistons didn’t take him, I was so sure he was coming here. It’s not absurd to see a place where Hali goes top 2 or 3 in a redraft

[–] No-Mulberry-908@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Hali's been better for a while now. Now we're waiting for Lamelo to respond cuz he's been out due to injuries but so far this season he still doesn't look like he's better than Hali.
