Come to think of it, most of my favorite players were a No.10, messi, Ozil, cesc, Kaka… kinda sad that the position died
Football / Soccer / Calcio / Futebol / Fußball
Greatest Barca player of all-time meets greatest real madrid player of all-time.
The entire conversation was so fascinating. I don’t think I’ve heard Messi talk other than short match interviews.
Wholesome asf.
you can just see Messi is honestly kinda flustered
and when he's gonna be in Zidanes position hes gonna be just as much of an inspiritaion to the players playing then
Can someone share the link please
What a wholesome interview. ❤️🥹
When Zidane calls Ronaldo now, it will directly go to his voicemail.
Every photo of Ronaldo and Zidane constantly look like they’re trying not to kiss each other so don’t think he’d be too worried
I dread the day when the genius that is Lionel Messi will retire. Football won’t be the same.
"Scoring a goal in the World Cup final is the best thing ever, right? Both of us can say that"
Game Recognizes Game
WOW!!!!!!!
man I love this convo
Okay my Zidane anti agenda is dropped he is now top 3 after Messi andPele
lol Messi said about the number 10 and what it represents "We all believed we were the different player, even though we weren't." I think with these two it's pretty safe to say that they were.
Wouldn't it be funny if, maybe at some point later in Maradona's life, he actually fantasized about what it would be like to play like Messi?
i’m always blown away by how good Zidane’s spanish is
I’m sure there’s some nostalgia informing my feelings here but for me the mid 2010s were my favorite time being a football fan because it was like… just before Pep/Klopp came into the Premier League and completely changed the footballing meta.
The days of the no. 10 who was a bit of a luxury player are past us
I know what you are saying and I'm sure it's a thing in gaming, but "footballing meta" just sounds so off. And because not all people know specific terms from other hobbies, I don't quite using them out of their context.
KDB is a no. 10 through and through
During this whole conversation you can kinda see Messi being starstruck a little bit.
Zidane apparently has a certain aura and presence that people really feel when around him. Not even necessarily due to his skills as a player or his status in society. I think even if he had been a regular average joe he would be one of those people that exude leadership and confidence.
So there’s a good chance Messi is under that spell even if he sees himself as equal or superior.
Yeh I mean in the first few seconds you already see he's smiling way more than just a regular interview.
I mean look at 0:18 of the interview lol. He didn't have a bigger smile winning the Ballon d'or
Ronaldo's comment on the video "🥲🥲🥲🥲"
Yes, CR10 famously played in the 10 position and always wore the 10 jersey.
😔👎not my manager
Everyone that loves football should watch this. Who would have thought Zidane was the one Messi would open up to
Zidane's idol Francescoli. Leo's idol Aimar. Always River.
Leo may not say it, but the way he speaks about that era of River, he clearly reaaaally liked River as a kid.
How did Zidane become a fan of Francescoli? Was it during his time in France? Surely he wasn’t watching Argentine football in the 80s?
How on earth do the mods allow this facebook level crap?
I'd be happy to pay to have these guys talk more about football as they did with the #10 role—truly a brilliant half-hour piece.
This interview is a great watch. I love these two
Two people with absolutely nothing left to prove on the pitch
I'm just a sec ahead ... but you were 3 seconds ahead of the rest.
damnnn what a conversation
man GOD really does exist. its FUCKING MESSI. THE GREIGHTEST!!!!!
there's something about Messi's voice that make him sound so innocent, i can't explain it but he seems like he would still be nice honest man even without the success
I remember watching a Messi interview where he showed Zidane jersey hanging on his wall at home. Very cool 👍🏼
Bruh..he can make position 0.325 work and I dont even know what that is...
So i saw the whole video at the end these guys exchange there world cup jersey's. While Zidane was signing and writing a message on his jersey, Messi was mesmerized seeing it and and said "What a shirt!".
Leo morphing slowly into zuckerberg
That conversation hade me smiling for the whole 29 minutes.
That last comment by Messi on Zidanes shirt really says alot
Every thing that came out of this interview was great
Very subtle, but massive props to whoever was in charge of both men's wardrobes
Messi wearing a shirt with the modern three stripe logo, and the Messi logo while Zidane wearing the classic Adidas logo, I'm pretty convinced this isn't coincidental
Two very different generations, two absolute legends
Ronaldo is not going to like this. Zidane just entered his book of 'haters.'
Thank you for posting this. I looked up the interview and it's incredible.
My favorite quote in the interview is “Scoring a goal in the World Cup final is the best thing ever, right? Both of us can say that”
But I was told the world cup was a 7 game tournament 😭
Zidane scored in two finals as well… Not many can say they did.
I think there's more nuance to the 7 game tournament thing.
Realistically, the World Cup needs to be fit into a period of 2-3 weeks for logistical and tv rights reasons. And as well, a single elimination tournament format is not the best way to judge the quality of a team. There are a lot of ways the format is a poorer judge of the question "which country is best at soccer" than, for example, a more traditional league format would be.
Another example is that giant slaying is fun in single elimination domestic cups, but the first division is always a better indication of team quality.
None of this takes away from winning the trophy.
TimelineCR7 would be furious rn watching this interview
