The whole interview was great. As someone who idolized Zidane both as a player and as a coach that was amazing. Two of the absolute best discussing football is something I can't get bored watching ever. It's great to see the amount of respect they both have for one another. That was a great interview. I would love to see one with these two + Ronaldo if he could just be nice, so I can enjoy their conversation about football. Maybe in a few years when he mellows down, but I do understand his competitiveness.

Have Messi and Ronaldo played together any match yet (charity/friendly match)? It's the one hypothetical people ask constantly throughout the years of their rivalry.

I've been too afraid to ask but this feels like the proper thread to do so.

What is the difference between a 10 and a 9? When I was a kid I just assumed that the 10 referred to the best player/goal scorer. But now most strikers are referred as 9.

What does each number stand for?

10 is the one who pulled a string to score a goal. Usually most creative player with sense of scoring and final pass. Totti, Del Piero, Messi is the scoring type of 10. Meanwhile there also a no 10 that focus on being a metronome and elegant player like Zidane, Ozil, Hagi.

9 is your main spearhead. The one you expect to score in 1 on 1, the one who save your team and score the first in desperate 2-0 lose before half time, the one who dare to demand for the ball to score. They are usually strong, skilled in first time shoot, can smell the blood between spaces to kill the game. Prime example is Vardy, CR7, Haaland. Extra point to different breed of 9 from Brazil, Romario and R9 who also excel in dribbling and trickery. CR7 formerly on that category

As time passes, some 9 has the technical ability for last pass and playmaking like Kane and Giroud. But they are still no 9.

Funny seeing the ball on the ground there, just playing innocent, knowing what those two could do with it.

Talking about the number 10 like they are the last of the Jedis.

Teach us the way of the 10.

Zidane saying that after abolishing the #10 position at Real Madrid and sitting one of the last true #10s in James Rodriguez… is peak irony. Hahaha

Messi wears the shirt with the new Adidas logo, Zidane with the vintage Adidas logo on his shirt.

This picture is just iconic imo, and to see the mutual admirations between these two flourishing is just insane.

Nowadays we need footballer to be fast be strong be so all-rounded that I kinda think of most of them looks the same on the pitch.

Zidane is like a dancer on the pitch he's so elegant. Messi is walking around but he is like the magician, surprised everyone everytime.

I'm not saying I don't like the modern footballer but who will dislike Ronaldinho.
