Let me start by saying I never meant to reach 12 watches. I brought the SRPD73K1 and the GA2100 to replace an older smart watch that I didn't like using any longer. Many have been through the collection and it could easily have been more watches sat in this picture.

It's definitely the first time I've looked at what I had an I've wondered why I have so many and I'm mainly wearing the SSK001 these days so I'm seriously considering selling all but that.

I think I'm mainly questioning myself at this point and whether I can truly justify keeping 12 or whether any of you fellow enthusiasts would suggest trimming it down a little bit.

Any input would be appreciated!

If you haven’t worn it for 6months and it holds no sentimental value…time for eBay

[–] stephs_LOL@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I would sell the seiko sna411 to me ( its $700 minimum where i live, its hell)

[–] UnitOneLE@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What’s the reference on the white ish g shock?

[–] Boba-Latte@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Keep the Digital G-Shock, keep the Seiko Chrono and sell the rest to fund something else.

[–] GolfsHard@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Would get rid of right most citizen, the bulova next to it, and the Seiko 5 SRPD. Would keep the rest.

[–] Coyote-Loco@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I was just looking at Citizen C7s, so if you decide to part with that hit me up!

[–] B3ansky@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Whats the ref on the white g shock?

[–] Matiaspascal@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Where have I heard "I never meant to reach 12 watches" before?

...Oh yeah! I used to say it to my reflection in the mirror.

My advice at this point in your collection is: Run.

You are asking the question that every collector has asked at some point, if you manage to reduce the collection to a number that is "reasonable" you will be out of danger, otherwise the sky, or your bank account, is the limit.

If you decide to sell, think carefully about which pieces will go, because later you may feel regret.

[–] THUORN@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I would sell them all.

But thats because they arent my watches. I wouldnt sell my watches. Dont sell anything, if you dont HAVE to. You might regret it. Its just a handful of watches, put the ones you arent using at the bottom or your sock drawer or something. lol

[–] Matiaspascal@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

About the watches you have now:

I would sell the new Seiko 5, because with the SSK001 it's redundant, and I would change the Pagani for something more original, for example a Seiko SPIRIT. Apart from that, I like all your watches, especially the Citizen Quartz and the day date.

[–] craigd14@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What is the watch in the top row btwn the Bulova and the Seiko?

[–] Usual-Breakfast7633@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

For me, most of the collection it bores me. But if you like them all, keep them all..who cares what anyone else thinks

Honestly, this is so personal that I'd say, take a note of how much you wear each one over the course of about a month. Those with no or little wrist time consider selling

[–] otmcallsgod@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This is an awesome collection!

[–] culalem@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Personally I don't hesitate to keep cheaper ones that aren't worth reselling and don't cost much to maintain. Basically any quartz that I remotely like, and any automatic where it's cheaper for me to swap the movement than have a watchmaker service.

You could do something similar to what they recommend for wardrobe trimming, ie turn the hangar around backwards and turn it right ways over your wear that item then donate anything you haven't worn at the end of the season. Helps drive home what your aren't really using.

If you were going to trim, do it hard and fast, get it down to three: a dress (Quartz Citizen is my choice), a steel sports watch (sounds like SSK is your go to), and a GShock (whichever you wear more often).

[–] Electronic_Bet_9919@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

All the cheap Japanese watches

[–] neoroxx86@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

if you are considering to trim down your collection, I would say to keep 1 dive, 1 G-Shock and 1 of your chronograph.

[–] Competitive_Ad_8006@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Sell the seiko pilot watch and the bulova keep that g shock

[–] interianism@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Keep whatever is in the top left corner, SSK, SNK, speedy and a casio

[–] SovereignAxe@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I feel like the white Citizen and Seikos serve the exact same purpose. They even both have day/dates and the same style indices. Pick which one you like the most and sell the other.

The black dialed Citizen/Bulova pair are the same story. I'm sure you favor one over the other-why have both? It looks like both of these sets are combining auto/quartz movements. If that's the case, then I guess I understand. Maybe have one black/one white, and one of those be quartz/one auto?

The black dialed divers with crowns at 4/8? Same story, except both of them are automatic. Are you a lefty or not? If you bought that Citizen I'm going to guess yes, so I would keep that one and sell the Seiko. It's already very similar to your GMT.

Speaking of the GMT, area you really satisfied with it? There are a lot of examples from the Seiko 5 lineup here, and I feel like this is one that is prime for an upgrade. I like the 5KX series, but personally I'm not a fan of the GMTs. It's not a bad watch, so if you like it and don't want to spend the money to upgrade, I completely understand.

I don't see a reason to have two G-Shocks, unless you're just really that indecisive about analog v digital, or a big fan of them so much that you want to collect all the styles. Personally, I'm a bigger fan of square G-Shocks than the Casioaks, so I'd ditch that one. Plus the square one looks like one of the pricier ones with a dot matrix display. I have one G-Shock-the square 5610U, and it's one of my favorites in my collection, but I don't want another one. But you do you.

Seiko 5 field watch and Flightmaster? Those are fucking cool, hold onto them. I can't even tell what brand that other chrono is, but it's a very nice looking rip-off of the omega moon watch, so if it's actually good, hold onto it I too guess.

None of these look like particularly bad watches, but you have a lot of overlap. You look like you may still be trying to figure out where your preferences lie. I think it's time to take a hard look at this collection, figure out what those are, and maybe consolidate and/or elevate the quality on some of them.

[–] 46chinos@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Sell everything except the citizen Fugu, 5kx GMT, and Casioak

[–] Dpurcell92@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Keep the GMT get rid of the rest and buy a long ones dress

[–] ShadowsteelGaming@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Top row, from the left: second and fourth Bottom row, from the left: first, second and third I would sell these.

[–] teckel@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I would sell all of them and get one nice watch.

[–] crappysurfer@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I'd sell them all and just get 1 watch that's nicer than all of them.

[–] CaliforniaWaiting2@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

You have to let go of most of this watches of you want a smaller better collection.

I'll keep the flighty because it's a classic and one of the G-Shocks because every collection needs one (the white one is dope). Perhaps the Citizen diver until you get a better diver. With those funds I'll start thinking of adding one or two, I'm partial to tool watches so I'll recommend a Pelagos, Damasko/Sinn and if you like their style I love Panerai.

[–] Desk_Diver@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Sell: All of them

[–] Salty_Ad7414@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Sell all, keep one G shock for SHTF scenario/gift and one nice one. Indecisive between Citizen or Bulova.

[–] AELatro@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I can appreciate a good watch, but this is an expensive hobby. Resources that could go towards other things in my opinion. If it’s something that makes you happy, why bother asking strangers for their opinion?

[–] squid-knees@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What’s the one in the bottom row left of the white dial called? 🔥

[–] akshats1ngh@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Sell them all and get an oris, maybe a CW

[–] LockMyWorld@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I would sell every single one.

[–] maybeJeremy@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Sell the ones you don't like/wear, keep the ones you like/wear

[–] carpet_whisper@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Might be a hot take here…

But I’d legit sell every single one except the Bulova on the top right & 1 of the G-shocks.

The Bulova & G-shock can serve as a daily watch, eventually the Bulova can be serve as your dress watch.

With what money you recouped, save a bit more and buy a Tudor. Like a Used BB58.

[–] Dreamchasing_@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Sell all buy a omega or a Rolex

[–] ItsTommyV@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

At least loose one of the 2 nearly identical submarine seikos

[–] ThatBoyBaz@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Nice collection man!

[–] fiftywattmafia@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Get some variety or just hit the eject button and move on from the hell of watch collecting. Ok take care.

[–] BlackMagic05@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

White dial Seiko 5 and the blue dial Seiko SNK80x.

[–] Elysia99@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I have 3 of the same watches you do, interesting. :-)

[–] beaver4breakfast88@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago
