Fiio FT5 - Not sure about these (alien.top)

Hi all,

Received the Fiio FT5 from AliExpress on Monday, and I think I was expecting so much more. I had the FT3; loved the sound, but the earpads were just too small to be comfortable.

No expert on explaining sound, but they just sound... muddy. Has anyone else received theirs yet?

Huge bummer to hear. What are you comparing them to? Possible you just aren't used to them yet?

Received my FT5s yesterday and I am loving them. They are more detailed with better instrument placement than my HD650s. Unfortunately (or fortunately as the case may be), this is my first pair of planars so I don't have a reference. I listen to classical predominantly so I am looking for a clean, dry, accurate response. Was also super impressed with the overall feel, fit and quality of these headphones.

ill say this, in terms of pure detail retreival planars destroy dyna's 90% of the time, and are usually amazing for instrumental music. So its not surprising the ft5 sounds good for you, we need more reviews of the ft5. Im quite curious about it too

Bought them a week ago and have been thoroughly enjoying them on my FiiO M17. I don't agree, they sound very detailed, especially the bass. Treble is subdued, but not much. Overall a great pair.

P.S. I've only used the leather pads.
