thats some harden defence out there

[–] NuggsBurgh@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That's actually a really smart play to pull on a low IQ defender. Hali so fun to watch

[–] youarenut@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I watched this live. Looked like Beasley character just lagged

[–] m3m3nt0-m0r1-@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

controller disconnected

[–] lonea4@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Lol bucks were clearly playing zone d

[–] butterflyl3@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Oh brother I don’t think they’re betting on you either Monk

[–] yay_sports@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I have a question.

Isn’t this an example of great athleticism but ultimately a bad play from Hailburton? I always thought one of the benefits of pulling up your C for a screen, aside from the screen itself, is also pulling the Defending C out of the box to clear up the lane to attack. Here Halliburton blows by the perimeter defender but still moves to congested space. This keeps the center congested after Haliburton dishes the ball out. Aside from Malik getting blown by, this didn’t seem that terrible for the Bucks D.

[–] KazaamFan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This looks like a travel by halliburton. He switched his pivot.

[–] 3s2ng@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He got bamboozled.

[–] roydonkofficial@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

CP3 absolutely livid that he didn’t think of this first

[–] throwawayshirt@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Does every team have an ugly new City court and an ugly new in season tournament court? What a time to be alive - for whoever manufactures NBA courts

[–] Putrid_Ad_2256@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That's one way to expose the zone defense. This is what irritates me about a lot of current basketball players, they don't communicate at all with each other. One of his teammates could just say, "It's all you!" and that would let him know that there's no pick coming.

[–] GACGCCGTGATCGAC@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

"Screen" is all you have to say. Do they not teach players to talk on defense anymore? That's basic shit

[–] jofgi@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Same mindset as when you yell at your boy to switch on the screen because you don’t feel like guarding the drive.

MB just like me fr.

[–] N0rTh3Fi5t@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I'm not sure what Beasley was thinking here. Even if there was an actual screen coming, he would still have to do something. Pick up the screener, fight over the screen, follow behind his man, something.

[–] OnePotPenny@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

wow this is like the pretend throwing the ball from first back to the mound play

[–] thenotoriouspo2@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago
[–] augustcero@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

now imagine if hali was some highflyer and yammed it after doing that. legendary

[–] K1NG2L4Y3R@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The Bucks defense is cooked

[–] minaatoooo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

My guy froze

[–] Neckbeard2423@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago
[–] ShaedonSharpeMVP_@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Is it just me or did that fake screen have nothing to do with this? All of Beasley's frozenness is due to the hesi-sauce that hali gave him. It wasn't the thought of a screen coming.

If he thought a screen was coming on that side he definitely would not just freeze. He would've been more willing to lean on that side if anything, knowing that the defender would be there to meet him. Am I just over thinking this?

[–] problem973@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

There's absolutely no way Beasley should be starting for any team especially next to Dame. Beauchamp should be starting instead of this streaky traffic cone

[–] LamboJoeRecs@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Then "analysts" wonder why guys like this kick around/end up out of the league quick fast.....Basketball IQ and Motor on 0

[–] aaden08@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I mean thats why you have your team behind you communicate

[–] I_ama_Borat@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It took the length of three whole Haliburtons for his slow ass to even lift his pivot foot

[–] IHateYouKids@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This s is gonna be the modern form of getting dunked on

[–] toepherallan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Are they playing zone here? I mean he still got blown by and took a hot minute to react and collapse a little but that would explain why he just let the center of the zone pick it up.

[–] Meatsi@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The Irish lad did a full 360 without being drunk

[–] atetuna@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I've seen ankles broken, but I've never seen them put in concrete boots and chained to the floor.

[–] TopGaurd@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Anyone ever see chris paul do this?

[–] Jkru3@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I don’t understand why this completely freezers Beasley? Could someone explain?

Like it’s not like he looks away to find the screen or moves to avoid it. If anything wouldn’t this cause him to move or prepare for a screen instead of just looking straight at Hali like his controller just died lol

[–] SoupAdventurous608@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Can’t wait for Haliburton to tell this story on someone’s podcast.

[–] TheReal_Slim-Shady@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wait so Indiana played this one at Barclays Center?

[–] chasehimdown@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

this is real life hilarious what the fuck is he doing son 😂 literally just did not move

[–] Lottapumpkins@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That ball movement was absolutely gnarly

[–] PersonFromPlace@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Feel like 2 should’ve just shot the 3 instead.

[–] Tapprunner@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Nembhard... you gotta put that up.

[–] JuiceMayo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Haliburton looks so fun to play with. Him and Mathurin are gonna be awesome to watch for awhile

[–] blade-runner2025@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It’s too bad Wolves traded this superstar for Gobert

[–] Billis-@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He wasnt happy with that extra pass

[–] Mastag2021@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Hahah I love this .. I love it even more because I took the pacers to win this

[–] draycon530@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I know Malik is the focus here, but is #2 physically incapable of shooting threes? It worked out, but dude had no one within ten feet of him and could not get rid of the ball fast enough.

[–] N0minal@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Nembhard. Good young player. But atrocious 3 pt shooter

[–] Julen_23@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

#2 is a decoy? Passed on wide open 3 there

[–] spacetech3000@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Ahh this what they mean by “traffic cone”

[–] N0minal@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Bucks new wing defenders are FUCKING TERRIBLE. Losing Jrue, Jevon, Grayson, Wes and replcing them with Malik and Crowder. Damn man.

Hali is legit. Going to be fun watching this team

Mathurin is a tank
