Since November 9th of last year. Fields last win at Soldier field was September 25th against the Texans. That game was also the last time the Bears were above .500

As a Giants fan, I really need for the bears to feel set at QB. This sort of stat does not help.

Not only are the Panthers the worst team in the league right now, Bagent didn’t even win the game either of those games, he just did enough to not lose. These stats with no context are ridiculous. And those raiders literally just fired their coach midseason 😂😂

Fields wouldve done something that causes them to lose.

Bruh I swear this happens every year. A backup comes in, does the absolute bare minimum but wins because they face some terrible teams and all of a sudden “The starter would’ve lost them those games.” They just beat the worst team in the league with no offense and a team so bad they fired their coach midseason. The only competent team they faced blew them out of the water.

Bagent threw for exactly 162 yards in both wins. It’s weird that it was exactly the same number. Idk how anyone can look at a guy who threw for 162 yards and say he had anything to do with winning that game. Foreman and the defense have been making him look a lot better than he is.

How many wins has Fields had since he came starter?

[–] SocialDistanceMedia@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Bagent is doing exactly what you'd want your backup to do, which is not lose games. But if my playoff bound team lost the starter right before the wild card round and he had to start, I'd have big concerns.

I think all he's really done is ensure he's going to be on a roster as a backup for years to come, which is a great gig to have.

Except he was the main reason they lost to the Saints. 4 turnovers leading to short fields.

[–] SocialDistanceMedia@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They're 2-2 with Bagent, right? That's generally the hope for any backup.

[–] mubbcsoc@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think the opponents are also very important to consider. They're not 2-2 if they had to play nearly anyone except the Panthers and Brian Hoyer/McDaniels Raiders.

[–] coloriddokid@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yup. As long as he stays healthy he has an NFL job until he’s 30 and he’s earned it thus far.

[–] Quirky-Lawyer-3409@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Exactly. You don't need him to play at starter caliber, though you dream of having a backup who can. You want your backup to be able to play just well enough to keep the boat afloat until the starter is back. Nobody wants a backup playing a playoff game unless it's Nick Foles in Philly.

[–] axman54@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

He played really well against the Raiders, wasn’t anywhere close to just doing enough not to lose, next time just say you didn’t watch the game and just looked at the box scores 😂

Bagent is slightly better than Fields, but neither can take bears to success.

[–] Rah_Rah_RU_Rah@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

u/ checks out, bad take

[–] rodmcmuffins@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Agreed the only people dense enough to dispute this are on r/nfl. Offense flows much better without Fields. Given enough time, the stats would prove it. Probably isn't enough to fix the offense, but they need to start somewhere.

[–] hairysonorth@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I haven’t seen anything that tells me he’s slightly better

[–] DireWolfe92@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

How about the fact that he takes almost 3 times as less sacks as fields

[–] IrvinStabbedMe@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

So that is why Fields was so happy after the game. Got to feel a home win again, finally.

[–] IAmNotOnRedditAtWork@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

We could have very likely won both of those games with no quarterback at all and a direct snap to an RB every down. These stats are so fucking dumb lol.

Bad QB beats two TERRIBLE teams. Nice.

[–] gpcampbell92@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Too be fair, you could get 300 yards passing on us blindfolded before our defense got healthy and we benched Mathis. So none of the good games this year are good I guess

[–] MysteriousFeetInc@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It's shocking that a QB with the same last name as the ~~field~~ stadium they play in has never won there, for the calendar year

[–] perma_ducky_face@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They should convert Fields to RB or WR. His style of play doesn’t work in the NFL.
