My wife has built a pretty cool Tik Tok account up to 250K followers. A handful of her videos have 10M+ views while many others are in the 1-9M range.

It’s Harry Potter edits. She does all kinds of editing from the movies and games.

How can we monetize this? She has a linktree in her bio that is full of HP merch but after a month we got a whopping total of 2 clicks.

It’s completely faceless and I’m worried that suddenly reviewing a product might be too jarring. We see a lot of successful accounts that just post movie clips, how do they monetize?

I would suggest doing affiliate marketing if that doesn't work I would suggest selling products such as t-shirts hats, or sunglasses

The difficult part is it’s in a niche that’s already heavily bloated with fan merch.

[–] ItsRellzBeats@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Maybe do more intricate longer videos with a face behind it on YouTube to monetize some of the crowd over there without having to affect your current viewers.

Ideas -

Character Development Review / Review about the sets / Character history and family line / Favourite Film / Character/ Scene and why / On set footage review / Interesting facts regarding filming / Interesting facts about the actors /

As someone else said this is definitely a bloated market but if you can get people wanting to watch you or your wife and attach to the face behind the content then I'd definitely be way more easier to monetise on YouTube. You can also upsell during these videos or get better sponsors.

Could she feature magic academy fantasy novels? (Quick book reviews)… good audience for it, booktok is huge, lots of authors would pay (raises hand)…

It’s rough with a faceless account, best bet would be sponsors reaching out to you, but also the creativity program is decent from what I’ve seen for most people if the tiktoks are 60 seconds plus. Maybe try build a youtube following too with longer videos, if successful that’s a lot easier to monetise

[–] gotcoldgold@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

This is correct. (Check my post history)

Without a face, it’d be hard to get consistent sponsors. Brands love personalities and people moreso than faceless and possibly ai generated content. Not all views are equal.

Best bet for OP to sell Harry Potter merch and link in bio, is constantly plugging it in the videos/slides. Though even this isn’t that enticing as the Harry Potter niche is already saturated at a glance.

Keep going regardless. Id suggest sprinkling different IPs occasionally and progress beyond a Harry Potter edit account, over time of course.

Dunno man but congrats on the following. That’s cool.

I know when to stay in my lane lmao. My bag is SEO.

My unexperienxed with Tik tok guessed:

Perhaps plug the merch in a quick second after the video.

Perhaps find a partner to shout things out in exchange for $$

Don’t be afraid of alienating the audience. Lose 50,000 followers but the remainder become an income stream! That’s cool.

Hi friend! The best thing you can make your wife do for now is to capture the audience in a newsletter!

I am curious, Since much of her content revolves around movie edits, and you are selling HP merch, is it possible that if you become too big, that HP could come after you to cease and desist for copyright infringement.

Maybe that is your whole question of how to pivot off of that in order to monetize, sorry if it was I just wasnt clear if you were looking for how to continue doing the same, or if the whole goal is to leverage what you have built and go in another direction to monetize.

[–] ali-hussain@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Fair Use. If it came down to court OP would likely win. If it were coming down to court, OP would probably go bankrupt and could not survive till it comes down to court. But really you have to look them in the eye stand your ground and claim fair use talk about how your work is actually free advertising for them, and protest on your Tiktok about your plight. The negative reaction from fans is what will make them back away.

A friend is in a similar spot with wanting to monetize an existing entertainment niche, and I've suggest custom enamel pins. Lots of people do it, so you're competing with a lot, but doing your own designs and small runs can have great margins. $1 each, and can sell for close to $10. Because they're custom, noone else has the exact same ones so no price shopping.

You could start with a "free plus shipping" model to test it out and order bulk Harry potter pins from AliExpress for 50 cents each, then ship them out for $2 and build up an email list.

This answers the questions "will our customers buy this?" And doesn't flood your home with bulky merch. The whole thing can be tested for about $50.

Sell the account

[–] JumpingPapayas@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Just a few ideas:

  • make longer form content and post on YouTube
  • reach out to SaaS companies who have editing tools and see if you can get sponsorships through them
  • offer custom edits through services like fiverr or upwork
[–] whynotthebest@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Your best bet is to use your content/account as proof that you can create content, edit videos, run social, create and market merch, etc. I would not expect the THING you created to be the money maker, but the evidence that you know how to create/mange THINGS.

Make videos with Harry Potter LEGOs. Put a note this video used these LEGO sets and use your affiliate links: https://www.lego.com/en-us/page/affiliate-program

[–] wnzojkos@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

yea, you will be right answer

[–] Suspicious-Bet-3078@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

congrats!

patreon is straight forward and allow to audience to give appreciation of their choice. without strings or morals from your part.

a step up from that is merchandise. the audience show the same apparition as before but get a memorabilia in return.

alternate channels like twitch.tv live stream have built in income sources built in.

then you could also do exclusive content but i wouldn't jump there of the bat.

"How I use the Harry Potter Method to build TikTok accounts to 250K followers starting from scratch without having to show my face or doing cringey dances for views"

Buy full course: $997

Thats how lol ^

i believe either way, just placing the link in bio doesnt do much, you need to add a call to action in either the caption, comments, or in the video itself telling them to click link in bio for xyz.

you need to really ponder what harry potter edit fans are greatly interested in purchasing to know what to link to. You can look into affiliate marketing and redirect appropriately.

For example those "home decor" or "interior design" accounts do so well they just link to what they presented at their amazon storefront and have people clamouring to ask them for the link to the product they showed.

Perhaps your wife could add more videos showing her face like maybe reactions to harry potter things/products or playing the harry potter games, etc. to open it up a bit more

There is a ratio for monetizing:

For every 3 contents you give to the consumer, you can do 1 ask to the audience.

So, it's okay to monetize if you follow this ratio.

[–] Notorious_GIZ@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

On the current attempts to sell merch, not sure how feasible this is for you but would be interested to integrate merch into HP clips. For example Harry getting a sweater, edit that to have him holding up the merch. Or take a clip of him snagging the snitch and make him grabbing some merch. Trying to organically integrate it into the content people are naturally going to watch from the channel could have positive effects on CTR.

I completely agree suddenly reviewing a product would be jarring and inorganic to the user experience. I worked in influencer marketing and the worst campaigns were always the influencers that were so obviously forcing a product integration for dollars - both from our metrics and the influencers. The content should still meet the expectations your audience has of your content.

[–] notfrontpage@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

How much $ do you want for a meme review video? I’ll looking to advertise.

[–] Dry-Negotiation1175@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Next step is get smaller Harry Potter influencers to post on your acct, boosting their reach and growing your content. Then be an affiliate of all their monetization strategies down the road once the collaboration is solidified and the audience is used to it

Since she makes edits, she can make youtube tutorials and direct people there - or she can make a patreon and share project files.

I’d monetize/gate videos where she actually appears. People who like her stuff will pay for the personal video, like Patreon. She can then use snippets from these videos to upsell exclusive content and more paid viewers for the exclusives. It’s worth a try. No additional cost other than the time to create it. I’d have merch but don’t expect it as a revenue stream. It’s nice to have but not necessary and over saturated as others have said.

Tell your wife to DM I’ll give her a job And can teach her how to monetize her digital edits into a thriving business

Work with an influencer agency who understands your values and can help get you the right type of partnerships.
