Hubspot has an awesome free SEO course. It'll take you a day or two to complete, but then you'll know what you need to do.

Read only google guidelines as published on google.com

That should save you a lot of time and get you good basic results

Or if you actually want to put effort in, it takes time to learn this stuff, just like everything else. SEO is not some side thought. It is important and should be treated as such.
