They took her to a federal detention center and jailed her with criminals. Why are we housing people with immigration issues in prisons? This girl never should have been detained at all.

"There were prisoners everywhere. I learned that I was being housed with convicted murderers,” she said.

“(Other inmates) told me I looked like a fish out of water and even gave me soap and a towel.

“As a former police officer it was such an irony to be on the other side of things. Those inmates treated me better than anyone else.”"

The fact that she is an ex police officer is relevant.

A white woman from a supposedly allied nation, with an American spouse in the military, a valid visa and (I'm assuming) a clean enough background on paper to be a police officer (Shit may have happened since but you get the point) was treated like this.

Not saying she should get better treatment because of those reasons, more that she is a walking basket of green flags. If they are going to do that to her...
