In a sport like basketball, individual players have such a large role and impact on the game compared to other sports. So, you'd think if a coach was unscrupulous and really wanted to win, and easy way would be to just intentionally have his players injure the best players on the opposing team. How come this isn't a common practice?

The players are basically all friends nowadays having known a lot of each other since high school and AAU. Even the up and comers know the stars from the days at their camps

Community is too tiny and info about planning bounties definitely will leak. Team will be suspended for entire century considered the fact stars most valuable assets in the league. On the other side in order to make it sneaky you have to have self managed sociopath like Zaza or Bruce Bowen in your team and you will succeed.

When they were both with the Nuggets, George Karl accused Andre Iguodola of being a mole for the Warriors in the playoffs and tipping plays. According to Iggy, the plays were basically “try to injure Steph”. random link about it from Google
