Torn. Looking to add my first green dial watch. Leaning Breitling, but man the Oris is nice with the in-house movement. Which one would you pick?

Breitling Navitimer: 41mm on leather strap running on the COSC Calibre 17 (modified ETA-2824)

Oris Aquis: 41.5mm on bracelet running on the in-house Calibre 400

I have the blue non-gold oris aquis cal 400 and love it. Highly recommended. But i personally find the gold and green combo a bit weird. I'd go with the blue if you want the gold (not your point i know). Or the green no-gold. That one is really nice.

Otherwise omega aqua terra has a nice green one. That isnt as bright tho. Or of course the omega seamaster diver 300m has one too (the seaweed i think its called).

Also some more suggestions here: https://teddybaldassarre.com/blogs/watches/green-dial-watches

This is great. Thanks!

Omega SMP 300 m green dial. For sure not an Oris or a Breitling.

I love bronze with Green, so my pick would be the Christopher Ward C65 Dune Bronze COSC on the green vintage oak leather... I know the movement doesn't compete with in house, but it's just a look I've fallen for. Helps that it's less than a quarter of the price of the Breitling 🤣

If I'm forced to choose between these two (And I'm presuming "same-ish" price), I probably end up with the Breitling because of my weak heart, but my head would be screaming "Oris" the entire time.

I love the movement in the Oris, but tend not to like proprietary lug fittings (and don't need that much water resistance or an overt diving bezel). The Breitling generally has beautiful case finishing, but a 2824 at that price (for me) is a bit of a letdown.

I suspect that is why you are getting a lot of "maybe the other" answers here. Here's a shot of the Breitling B09 Pistachio as well as some Oris movement shots to make this more interesting. I do think the Pistachio is a fair bit higher in price (and a manual wind).

Good comments and great pictures. Thanks! The movement is what has me hesitant on the Breitling and another diver has me hesitant on the Oris. Budget is less than $4k, so it’s difficult to get into the better movements.

Oris, love the green/gold combo.

I would go with the aquis, mostly because I don't like the non chrono navitimers. The chrono version is absolutely iconic, though.

Oris Aquis.

I feel like you’re not passionate about either. Imo, that’s a sign you have to keep on looking. If these were the right options I think you’d really want both, whereas it seems you’d just as soon have neither. Is there a strict budget?

Between those two, the Navitimer.

The green Oris x Cervo Volante Big Crown. There are other variants of Big Crown with darker green as well
