This is beautiful

Thank you for posting defensive highlights OP! I can't get enough of these.

The fouls are annoying but man he crushed most of the assignments, staying in front of Zion and Ingram is no easy task.

“Go make the all-defensive team. I guarantee you - if you go make that, you get on the court, and if you’re on the court you’ll have to play offense too” - Kawhi Leonard

Too many people here severely under-appreciate 50% of the game of basketball. Love seeing posts like this highlighting how valuable an all-defense guy can be

He has historically been one of rhe unique players who can slow down ZIon 1-on-1. He is also historically one of the players that can slow down Steph. Dillon has unicorn versatility.

That corny mf is strong

[–] 3nnui@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I'm nauseous from looking at that court.

[–] madhare09@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

I'm not watching anything on that court

[–] everyoneneedsaherro@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Jesus Christ that court is bad. What happened to the game I love

[–] vaalbarag@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It's awful just in highlights. I can't imagine watching an actual full game on it. Trust the NBA to come up with an idea for trying to drive up mid-season viewership and 'innovate' something that actually feels unpleasant to watch in a way that their regular product does not.

[–] Head_Arugula5361@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It’s so distracting

[–] Ayonanomous@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Lmao alot of this was showing how bad the refs have been

[–] gildedtreehouse@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Of course theyre bad, their work environment has melted their vision

[–] Head-Kiwi-9601@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think you could get away with a sixth man on this court. No one would notice.

[–] gildedtreehouse@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

6th man, trap door, trail of blood, whatever

[–] believemedude@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Horrible officiating? Hideous eye-gouging court? Definitely not watching

[–] hotdogflavoredblunt@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah I’m obviously salty but brooks put on a masterclass in fouling and not being called for it

After reading the title I was assuming he punched someone in the balls

[–] Major_Wager75@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

My eyes are bleeding

[–] DjLionOrder@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Such a hater post lmao. Anyone with eyes saw the impact he had defensively out there.

Only person who could remotely stay with Zion and BI. Won them the game probably.

[–] zodiaczac00@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Tbh I thought it was a hater post when I saw that the first 3 clips were all fouls.

[–] illzkla@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Stupidly insane?

[–] syllabic@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

zion gets an insanely friendly whistle

he's also enormous, hope he can stay healthy at that size

[–] Garthtav@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I'd say his whistle is one of the worst for his playstyle.

[–] DJ-two-timing-timmy@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Omg that court colour wtf

[–] Single_Minute2829@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Damn. No one’s watching Houston basketball lmfao

[–] KryptoNike07@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yet everybody’s got an opinion on their team lmao

[–] GuardOk8631@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I can’t see the ball

[–] Massive_Carpet_8924@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Bruh. Fuck these courts.

I clicked the link, and immediately clicked off

[–] Alive_Ad1256@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Dillon Brooks has one of the best hump and bump D in the league.

[–] Jscott1423@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If brooks doesn’t foul, he gets cooked. Luckily for him.. refs typically let his extra pushing / hand checking go. On nights when they don’t, it looks like this and he’s exposed. They only let him push and hand check LeBron for the media

[–] Wzzz524@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

ngl their were for sure some fouls in this but refs are so bad. he gets whistled for everything and than you have Giannis trucking down people and he gets the call that he got fauled...

The refs really have favorits and vendetta's...

[–] bartolomeudebraganca@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

The grizzlies handling of Brooks was absolutely disgraceful. They used him as a scapegoat and I was under the impression that they were trying to convey that Ja's behavior was in part due to Dillon's antics. I'd love to have a guy like Dillon on the Mavs. His offense can be detrimental but he brings it every single day. The type of player you hate when you play against but every team needs someone like that

[–] theglicky@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They never connected Ja’s suspension to Dillon so not sure how you came to that.

And it’s not scapegoating to not sign someone who has been consistently bad in the playoffs when they want more money and a bigger role.

[–] EatDeeply@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

There is ZERO credible evidence that the Grizzlies actually scapegoated Brooks for their failures. The ONLY evidence that has been trotted out is a report from a national media figure with no historical sources in our organization that has been disputed by BOTH Brooks and Memphis.

But it doesnt fucking matter. You all read a headline and parrott it 1000 times until you are blue in the fucking face. Even though it smears our organization.

[–] BowserBuddy123@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Brooks was awesome here. Most people get bullied by Zion, but buddy stood him up and stuck to him throughout. Played great ball denial defense too. Love that

[–] kingofgamesbrah@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He looks so funny when he strengthens his stance but it's clearly effective. Threw Zion off his game a bit.

Honestly what's surprising in these clips is how little emotion he shows, I'm guessing he's just focused.

[–] bkuuretsu@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Ime got his family at gunpoint

[–] ProfessionalMany981@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Not gonna be surprised if Ime did. He got that Denzel Training Day vibes.

[–] Trumptard45@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yo I don’t really like this guy…. But those refs …. Sheeeeesh man honestly ruining the game.

I only saw 1 foul (maybe) in the first 4 they called on him.

[–] EatDeeply@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This community is awash with favorable posts about Dillon when he is playing EXACTLY THE SAME as last year.

Its just that he doesnt have a Memphis jersey on, so the community can appreciate his exceptional and versatile 1-on-1 defense. Which we loved and appreciated for years.

Similarly, if and when JJJ leaves our team, I bet everybody would suddenly have the "maturity" to appreciate that he is best suited as a roaming block-hunting 4 and not a classic 5. But because he is still on Memphis, the community insists on evaluating him as a classic 5 and posting his rebounding counting stats ad nauseum. Just like ya'll were determined to only evaluate DIllon as a feature of his TS% last year, and to ignore his credible defensive impact stats.

[–] pineapplesmile99@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Refs can’t see because of that court

[–] Tight_Ad3092@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

As a rockets fan, respectfully, FUCK THAT COURT. Keep the logo tho

[–] groshretro@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That court is beyond horrific.

[–] jjjl1985j@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Bucks need to trade for his dumbasse

[–] edylelalo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What even is this court?
