On the verge of tears, I can’t believe this shit. Until my last breath I will curse Benfica.

Benfica were genuinely so poor, even against 10 men, Roger is the luckiest man alive.

This is zero football heritage or whatever Mourinho said that one time

Team of losers, this was to be expected. Big 3 in name only, we’re around the level of braga at best and even that’s questionable in the last few years tbf

Artur Soares Dias had a great game, controlled it from the start to finish!

Pissed, but we did as well as we could with one man down, Paulinho for Morita was a dumbass decision though.

Not going to complain about the refs they will eventually be shit to our side so it is what it is.

The defending on that João Neves goal was some 3rd grade nonsense

[–] kdoap@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'm still pissed, We're lucky we have Neves carrying this team

Refs will always keep Benfica in the game, pure joke

Watched Spurs blow a 1-0 lead with two stoppage time goals to fall out of first place...

And then watched Sporting blow a 1-0 lead with two stoppage time goals to fall out of first place.

In the same weekend. Maybe football isn't it.

Benfica full of plastic fans that's for sure..stadium is like a library until they score surprise surprises.. they will do nothing this year they are shit

[–] Nordie27@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Roger Schmidt survives by the skin of his teeth, but honestly Benfica looked just as clueless as usual. Not once did they look capable of scoring against 10 men until the Neves equaliser

This might hurt them more than it helps them in the long run with Schmidt getting more time

[–] itsprimeyo@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Can thank that pathetic Guedes dive for setting that comeback up. Ref was eating them up the whole game like a buffet.

[–] The_Z0o0ner@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Very entertaining match! jesus. Fairs to Sporting for sticking with their guns even with 10, think still had more possession at the 70 minute mark. Respect to Inácio for taking the red card as it is

Joao Neves was great, António Silva pushing him over after the equalizer is the kind of spirit this team needs more, instead of droping their tools, specially in European games..

[–] absol-hoenn@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Bad defending at the end cost Sporting. Last subs were very poor as well imo. Wouldn't say losing would have been the fair result but that's football. Thought the referee had a rather good game tbh, Inácio was rightly sent off.

If we dont secure a decent striker in January (unlikely) and stick it out with João Mario for the rest of the season (likely) we are indeed in deep shit.

Also, João Neves is insane. Best player on our team today by far and the kid is only 19.
