The 500k may not be enough incentive, which is crazy to say. I've heard playoff spots being suggested but that would likely lead to a lazy season for the winner. I haven't heard anyone suggest a draft pick. There's, what, 300+ draft prospects every year? Surely there's enough talent for 61 of them to be picked. Here's the idea: make the 31st pick in a 61 pick draft the prize. You have your first round of 30, business as usual. Then the the 31st will be awarded to the winner of the tournament. And finish with your second round of thirty, business as usual.

What do the others think? Has anyone heard this suggestion before because I haven't seen it

It has been suggested many times, including in exactly this format.

One of the arguments against was "Why would players play to allow the team to replace them?"

That doesn't incentivize the players.
