Moondrop Blessing2 + Spinfit W1 tips + balanced modular cable + Fiio BTR3K

This setup is comfortable and secure in my ears all day long & sounds great on the 2.5mm balanced port of the btr3k. I usually keep in it LDAC or APTX-Hd and its basically indistinguishable from lossless. Plenty of power and an overall pleasing sound signature thanks for the AKM dac.

Looks great. My budget / beater setup is quite similar. Blessing 3s with coreir tips (MS size happens to be clear and blue that match visually super well), and a Qudelix 5k

[–] xenn64@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Im considering getting the Blessing 3. Is it worth it?

[–] TURBO_SCROTUM@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah definitely. It doesn't compete with my kilobuck IEMs in terms of slam or detail, but I wouldnt really expect it to. The best praise I can give it is I think I find it still worth listening to sometimes even with a $3k IEM within arms reach.

I'm finding either due to burn in (not sure if this is real) or tip rolling im actually getting a pretty decent bass rumble out of it now.

OP: "It's one banana, Michael.02 What could it cost, $10?"

[–] BigBlue_Gorilla@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

I was wondering if this setup would be good for audiobooks? Been using AirPods on a S23 Ultra.

[–] mikailranjit@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Why would you ever get a setup like this for an audiobook😭 it’s like bringing an F1 car to a go kart track

[–] sux138@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

dont waste your money, the airpods is absolutely fine for audiobooks, podcasts, streaming music

[–] Nigalig@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Lol I'm listening to an audiobook right now on B2 Dusk and Fiio BTR7 with s23u. I'm at work on break but listen all day at work with this setup. Mind blowing for music coming from Buds 2 Pro and audiobooks are great due to the imaging these IEMs provide. Feels like shit is happening all around me, surround sound kinda. Hope that makes sense. Airpods and Buds are simply nowhere near this kind of sound quality.

I have similar setup, Truthear Hexa with Spinfit W1 and 3.5 braided cable and btr3k, great sounding

[–] scriminal@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

B2D with compy tips and a tripowin zonie cable and a Qudwlix 5k is my setup and I'm very happy

[–] alpacanations@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

that Qudelix looks interesting 🤔

[–] alltimenoob@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I have the exact same setup, and while I get the itch to upgrade every now and then, I just can't justify the cost given the performance I get out of the B2 and the BTR3K.

[–] alpacanations@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

facts the next step up would be something like the variations but you would be getting into heavy diminishing returns

[–] Panda_red_Sky@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Sony ier m7 + qudelix 5k

[–] Spysnakez@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What is the bluetooth part? You are driving cabled IEMs with the Fiio, correct?

[–] AngusPicanha@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The Fiio is using Bluetooth connection from the source

stop this nonsense about "endgame"

[–] Smokeysmokey4@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

This is budget, in western world you can buy this with one month salary… idk why everyones bitching

[–] alpacanations@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

in the uk this whole setup cost me about 1/13 of the average national salary....they just love nitpicking 😄

[–] Smokeysmokey4@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Man I don’t earn shit and can still comfortably buy this shit haha

[–] Introvert_PC@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It's budget for audiophile world but if most of my friends wanted this setup they would say it's too expensive. My setup is Hifiman Sundara and it's about the same price. But I still wouldn't call it budget? This sounds elitist as hell just saying.

[–] AngusPicanha@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I find the W1 tips on the B2 too sibilant compared to the stock tips, do you feel the same or is it totally fine for you?

[–] driftyloon@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

My simple setup at the moment is an iPod classic 7th gen and truthear hola. I also have a BTR5. I bought a pair of truth x crin zero red so looking forwards to that.

I prefer overears most the time so don't spend too much on iem.

[–] taverner_j@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

How can a bluetooth device be considered audiophile when bluetooth streams in lossy compression?

[–] silverbee21@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

LG V30-V60,

The IEM is probably different for each person. But mine is KZ ZS7, Tin Audio T2, or TRN V90

[–] itotron@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I used to be like you purchasing, and chasing every new $50ish Chi-Fi IEM that came out.

Etymotic ER2 XR ... $100

You NEED to purchase COMPLY tips to go with them or you will think I'm crazy

Detailed, vocal forward, with a touch of clean bass.

[–] Interesting-Event378@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Budget and endgame dont go together.

[–] alpacanations@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

curious what your idea of "budget audiophile" would be? $20? 10?

Hakugei, and a few no name brands make modular cables. Just be sure to get regular 2 pin and not qdc connector like those on kz sets

[–] alpacanations@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

i forget the exact name but it was a modular cable form amazon. Comes with 3.5mm SE, 2.5mm bal and 4.4mm bal connectors

[–] NatureAndArtifice@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Akko clears caps are great, have them on my daily board as well

[–] itotron@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I reached a slight different conclusion

DAC: BTR3 (same choice as yours)

Headphone: "Etymotic ER2 XR" $100

The Negative? You have to make ONE more purchase. You need to purchase COMPLY tips as the stock ones don't last long.

These headphones are so sensitive (15 ohms), that you can easily power them off a smartphone alone. And, you can't even turn the BTR3 to full volume.

They beat every Chi-Fi underneath it, and the next step up is likely the $300 range.

I still purchase other headphones, but I don't any other IEM's anymore.

[–] NoScoprNinja@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Btr3k should get upgraded eventually

[–] Tussonex92@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Not perfectly loseless .. fiio using Bluetooth... crap. And the CCR smack them erday.

[–] PlurPonce@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Nearly same boat: 7hz timeless, balanced cable from Amazon, spinfit cp155, through a qudelix 5k. Def gonna be my endgame.

[–] whaleskank@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I use the same DAC and a pair of vintage MDR-V6 over the ear phones when on the go, sounds great.

[–] paracuja@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The Blessing 2 have outstanding design/sound 😬🙏 glad i could found some used ones on ebay germany for 150€. On ebay Japan they asked for 250€ used 🤌🏻

[–] alpacanations@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

right on man, that's about what I paid for mine 😼👌
