Hi everyone. First I just want to say that I know nothing about watches, but I really want to get a gift for my Dad. He’s in his 40s. I don’t know what brand would be a good recommendation for it.

I’m looking at Bulova, Seiko and Citizen now. I don’t make lots of money but I really want to get him something so please don’t recomment super high-end brans cuz I definitely cant afford that 🥲 I really appreciate all of the helps from yall. Thank you so much in advance

It would really help if you can give us your budget. But that being said, quartz will be less expensive and the brands you listed all have some good lower end options. Also does your dad have any preferences for watches? Colors? leather band or metal bracelet? That would also help others here make recommendations for you.

Orient ray 2 is a good budget automatic and the citizen ny0086 (or the other colors) too. Also the orient kamasu, defender, pilot (flight), bambino, maestro...

Quartz or solar watches would be more practical for everyday wear. Something like the citizen bm8180 (on the smaller side) or the bn0151, bn0100 for something a little more casual-sporty.

The Casio mtd1053 or the mdv106, MDV107, efv100, efv140, efrs108, efrs107d are also good watches for not much money and the mts100 has a sapphire crystal and a 10 year battery too.

If you are in the US take a look at the officialwatchdeals store on ebay and get a citizen eco-drive you like from there.
