I find my Sennheiser 6XX headphones to be quite comfortable on my big ol' dome for long gaming sessions.

From the OP: "The top of my head gets so sore while gaming."
That almost sounds like an adjustment issue. What happens if you extend the earcups lower?
I know that feeling, still searching for some good wireless headphones because of that comfort issue. Until now I tested Anker Soundcore Life 35, Bose QC 45 and Sennheiser Accentum. With all of them after hour or two I felt that pain on the top of the head and returned them. I gave up honestly, the only headphone I'm using every day for several hours without hots spots on the top of the head are my wired DT1990 Pro. The shape of the band matches my head shape exactly, so there are no spots with more or less pressure. But your mileage may of course vary depending on your individual head size and shape. The only way I think is just try different models out on Amazon etc., maybe you'll find something in the end, wish you luck!
If you like the sound and just hate the discomfort, a ZMF Pilot or Co-Pilot pad might be your solution. Check the measurements for compatibility. The Pilot is on sale for $20 usd. I have a couple and they are so plush.

What questions are considered purchase advice?

A request for product suggestions, comparison requests, or opinion requests fall under the purchase advice rule. These can often be found by searching first.
-
Any suggestion or comparison request pertaining to headphones, IEMs, DACs, amps, or other accessories should be directed to the purchase help thread or r/headphoneadvice.
-
Asking the subreddit to help make a decision to buy a product does fall under this rule (e.g. "should I get dekoni pads for my HD650?").
Why does this rule even exist?
-
In short, this is a large subreddit with a high volume. We want to help, but it's important to keep things organized to keep the sub fun. Thanks for your understanding.
