Uber for kids is really an idea i would strongly not recommend.
i like it in theory, but in practice this is a legal minefield. go start a business absolutely, but i strongly encourage you to avoid this particular one.
- police checks - that doesn't mean the drivers wont do anything
- what happens in a car crash
- what happens if the driver has a temper and the kids start crying or being disruptive and the driver looses it?
- what happens if the driver goes to the wrong location
- what happens is whoever is meant to pickup isnt there or is the wrong person
- what happens if the kids puke in the back of the car
- what happens if the kid has a medical emergency in the car
- depending on how young how do you deal with carseats
- what happens to the driver if they get stopped by the cops for speeding, with two random kids in the back and detained an the kids dont even know their home tel number or address.
there are so many variables that could go wrong even in a softplay kids club, let alone in a 'freelancers' car, even if they are verified and have a camera in the car.
The biggest problem is how to mitigate the risk as delivering children through an agency may be seen as risky by the parents.

It’s not Uber where the customers are adults and are held accountable for their actions, etc.
Nannies already do this.
For all the concerns about this idea... School buses are literally Uber for kids on a large scale.
Seems to me that many of the "problems" have been addressed by that industry.
I hate Uber.
50/50 chance I’m going to be saying prayers the whole time that we don’t get in an accident due to their insane driving.
But Uber is not like school buses, and these are questions that speak to exactly why my kids will NEVER be on a school bus.
- Did they ever get seat belts?
- Does anybody monitor the kids?
- Who are the bus drivers?
- Who are the other kids?
- Is the bus track-able by me on my phone?
- When were the suspension, brakes, and tires last checked and what’s their parameter for “passing”.
- What if my kid has an emergency, what happens?
Half of your questions seem like you don't think the school district knows about liability and the rest make you seem like a helicopter parent.
If you feel that strongly about a bus, you should homeschool
I’d disagree. If that person feels that strongly, I’d advise them to let other people help raise and round their children. Drop them off so they experience the world in a relatively safe manner before the scary part starts.

Back when I was doing more game development stuff in the 2000s, I had this idea to make a bespoke video game studio. The idea was that once we had a team of devs and artists in place and working smoothly together, we could pitch corporate clients to have a video game as part of their marketing.
It never became anything more than an idea, and I've long since moved on to another industry, but the pitch would probably be even more effective today. Imagine a fitness model or a band spending $20k to have a little video game with all their branding in it. If it was one of those "play for a few minutes once per day" type games, that's a lot of daily brand exposure for each player.
I had several ideas:
A dating app where women had to make the first move.
A site where models would place their pictures and videos and people would pay to see them.
I started working on my startup and came up with a way better idea. Like change the world and how people work. I’m not normally the type to drink my own kool aid because it’s a rookie move, but I genuinely love this idea. I’m working on it in the background

I'm a chemical engineer, and my "Mission statement" is to Bring Technical Team Economies of Scale to Small Chemical Companies.
I'm envisioning a subscription style service to handle metrics and non-capital projects.
Currently consulting companies go in and give them a list of things to do, and no one follows through, but the companies aren't able to afford a me (process optimization and safety), a reliability engineer, a controls engineer, etc. full time.
Their person on site is usually spread thin, and focused on basic operations.
Some order of magnitude estimating gives around 150Billion of non-capital optimization EBIDTA potential across the 15000 highly hazardous manufacturing sites.
The current companies go straight for capital projects.
Anyway...this has been rolling around in my head for years.

Enter your plant and receive daily or weekly notifications about care. Also, view a library of videos for care and poor health warning signs.
Could also connect with other plant owners and keep a daily picture log of your plant. Culminates in a slideshow diary at the end of the year “look how much your plant has grown”
Could also develop into home gardening. Giving gardeners tips on how much to water and when to harvest.
But I don’t really care about plants that much and I’m not a plant parent myself, nor do. I really want to learn the industry.

As I look at the world, I realize that our future lies in decentralization. We are heading towards total control by states, a world without borders where you have nowhere to run.
Only decentralization and cryptography can help. It can't be bribed, tortured or killed.

This is a great question, and where I live someone has a service for just that. It seems to do well. Another guy teaches student drivers, and has an entire fleet of cars with instructors now.

Yeah this is very tricky. One problem: most well-trained nannies won't get paid enough to make it worth it. It's already hard to find a good candidate to drive your kids to activities, because that's only 1-2 hours of work tops, and it means the nanny isn't able to take another job. After-school is prime nanny time, and a good nanny charges ~$27 an hour on average. So they'd rather take a 3-4 hour job that doesn't require constant driving vs 1-2 hours of pick-up/drop-off.
