Mark Jackson will not be calling games on MSG Network after the Knicks objected to him being on the team’s chartered plane, The Post has learned.

MSG Network planned on having Jackson occasionally fill in for Clyde Frazier this season, but Knicks management, led by team president Leon Rose, put a kibosh on the arrangement in part due to an old quarrel with Jackson and an assistant coach, according to sources.

I met Mark Jackson at the old Tower Records in Paramus when I was probably 12 years old or so. Between the Tower Records and the (now old) Barnes and Noble I met quite a few athletes and celebs, but that's beside the point. Mark Jackson was probably the rudest I've met. Like of course I'm bothering him while he's buying his CDs and DVDs or whatever, but who cares. This kid's face got Willis Reed to sign my Knicks stuff at a game WHILE HE WAS WORKING FOR THE NETS. Jackson said "God Bless" so many times it felt sarcastic even to a 12-year-old. But you need to understand my ass asked my dad to drive me home, got something with Jackson's face on it and went back to the god damn Tower Records for him to sign it. I was annoying him, and he was using the Lord's name in vain to annoy me back. Fuck that guy.

They didn’t see this being a problem before hiring Jackson in the first place?

James Dolan isn't too bright. I'm amazed he actually listened to Leon Rose honestly.

The marketing/MSG Network teams probably didn't consult Leon Rose or anybody in the Knicks FO before offering him the role, not realizing the dude tried to oust Bob Meyers in Golden State and fired good assistants like Mike Malone because of fears they'd usurp him.

The rare W for all nba fans

Am I in the minority for liking Mark Jackson's commentary?

[–] ChrisPaulsABitch@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Absolutely. He's basically a cult leader, he's a massive asshole and he's a broken record in the commbox. This is just a collective W for all nba fans.

Are… are we becoming a functioning franchise?!

[–] KiritoJones@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Idk a functional franchise would have never hired Jackson if this was gonna be an issue

[–] m0nkeyhero@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I’m taking the fact that we acknowledged this as a problem, and actually made a step towards getting rid of said problem as a step in the right direction towards becoming a functional franchise!

[–] jboggin@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

You could have stopped before "if this was gonna be an issue" and it would be just as true haha

This just in, Mark Jackson is still a hypocritical asshole who has difficulty getting along with others. More at 10

Shout out to the best color-commentator in the NBA - Walt “Clyde” Frazier. There have been many seasons when we were in the doldrums and he was the single redeeming reason to watch games.

Increasingly common Knicks W
