Scam callers. They’re so popular now because they’re effective. It’s like every other day I hear about some one who got fleeced out of money.

I didn’t realize this was the entrepreneur sub when I typed that lol. I guess it’s not good advice lol.

But maybe there’s some kind of service you could help to protect old people from getting scammed.

Parents just bought a place in FL. Simultaneously finally gave in and cancelled the $400+ Verizon cable bill for YouTube TV + Netflix/Paramount/Disney/Hulu

My parents spend all their time, money, and effort on their grandchildren. Which is great for my siblings and I because it finally got them off our asses.

[–] DataBaeBee@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

My father is 63 and he spends most of his money supporting his unemployed children. For context, my siblings are 28M and 23F. They can't hold down jobs, not even work acquired through nepotism.

[–] NZplantparent@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Residential care. They're going to be in rest homes for a very long time compared to previous generations.

Dying in comfort. I spent 3 years working for a medium scale general contractor. In that time I worked on 4 separate 100+ unit buildings geared towards retired living, ~$7k/month rentals.

[–] switchtrey@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Smashed avo

[–] ExtraLongFoley@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Pharmacist here. I am seeing a lot of them spending nearly a thousand per month on GLP-1 drugs like Mounjaro and Ozempic. Even at that price, we aren't able to get enough from our wholesaler to meet demand.

[–] itsfuckingpizzatime@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s all getting sucked up by the monstrous money devouring black hole that is the US healthcare system.

You wanna get boomer money? Open a nursing home.
