It’s interesting how many Jalens have popped up in recent years enough to have a whole 12-man roster after really only having Jalen Rose as a prominent player with that name.

Of course Jalen Rose is the only prominent older player named Jalen, his mother invented the name.

Rose's mother, Jeanne, named him from a combination of his father's name, James, and his uncle's name, Leonard.[3] As a result of Rose's prominence in the NCAA and NBA, Jalen became one of the most popular names for African-American boys born in the 1990s and early 2000s. It isn’t because of Jalen Rose guys. It’s because of JLIN (Jeremy Lin)!
