I think that having unskilled giants plodding around and dominating just because they are big is the thing that actually goes against how it was intended to be played.
But I also think free throws in general are stupid.
We want to watch nifty athletes run, pass, and shoot. Hacking is a symptom of the rules that get in the way of that, it's not the disease.
They are going to get caught in between. There is an older Gen of teams that is better, headlined by Milwaukee and Denver, and I think they are going to pass the baton over Indiana's head to OKC, Minnesota, and/or Orlando over the next few years.

Maxey is off to a fantastic start and he is def on track to be an all-star, but other guys have had hot starts and faded before the ASG. Maxey hasn't been one before, so there's no reputation factor to push him over
Tobias Harris and Aaron Gordon come to mind as two guys that have had a scorching Oct-Nov in the past but then regressed. Tobias was even player of the month for Nov 2018. I'm sure there are lots of others.
