Mitch doesn't intend on becoming a Female Doctor and decided to mention it. No HRT for you Mitch!

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 18 points 11 months ago (4 children)

Maybe he said "urologist" and the journalist just didn't understand.

[–] morgunkorn@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 11 months ago

Fair, that's a possibility too

[–] hemko@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 11 months ago

That'd be andrologist

[–] Mbourgon@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

“No, you’re ologist!”

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago

"No, I'm the ologist!"

AI slop! Loose the white blood cells!

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 2 points 11 months ago

Dawn has some mighty strange-looking fingers, too.

[–] CidVicious@sh.itjust.works 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I mean you can also tell this is fake because that would be assault.

[–] FelixCress@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (1 children)

Yeah, an assault would never happen in the real life.

[–] CidVicious@sh.itjust.works 0 points 11 months ago

The point being that it wouldn't be "this guy is banned from the park," it would be "please alert the police if you see him."

The text is clearly human made, and altogether the whole thing is funny. The tool for creating the images in this context doesn't really impact upon the quality of the work as a whole given the low standards and the fact that it's literally a joke, and furthermore is pretty unlikely to have put anyone out of a job. I can't imagine anyone is making a profit out of this so even the murky topic of copyright for the training data used by the model is at the very least less bad even if not completely abrogated.

If they'd done this with stolen images from the web and Photoshop I don't think there'd be a lot accusations of 'Photoshop slop' because they didn't create costumes and props and do a shoot on location and went with the 'lazy' option instead.

There are many things to be worried about with the popular availability of generative AI tools and the torrent of slop that's being pushed out of them but this really seems not to be one worth worrying about or even having contempt for.

I'm George's brother ORANGE CARLIN that lives in storage eating porridge mad at teens for breaking my door hinge.

[–] Tarquinn2049@lemmy.world 18 points 11 months ago (1 children)

The logo and style are so similar to an obvious plant poster. But I can't find if this is an old logo of theirs or just a new person doing the same thing.

[–] The_Picard_Maneuver@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I looked all over for that logo first too. It's definitely the same style of humor.

[–] exasperation@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (2 children)

It's True Wagner. He does flyers like this and they are pretty funny.

Obvious Plant puts products on shelves, and True Wagner puts flyers up.

He's the same guy who did "one day blinding stew" and "conductor of this train threw up on my kid," both instant classics.

[–] Tarquinn2049@lemmy.world 3 points 11 months ago

Obvious plant does park posters as well.

[–] FelixCress@lemmy.world 2 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Teens and their special organs blossoming for full-time regular use don't deserve to be shot with oranges!

[–] lost@lemmy.wtf 7 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Yeah... the organs blossoming thing is... creepy.

[–] pressedhams@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 11 months ago

Spring is here again, reproductive glands.

[–] Imgonnatrythis@sh.itjust.works 2 points 11 months ago

It's an awkward phase for sure, but once you get into full time regular use it's well worth the initial weirdness.

[–] VicksVaporBBQrub@sh.itjust.works 11 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I wanted to know how the orange chucker works. For such low resolution and lack of details, I could not tell. But I certainly could tell Dawn was absolutely freezing cold that particular day.

  1. Buy the Stihl gas-powered leaf blower. Dont be a dummy and skimp on the CFM, buy the nice $700 one. Note the size of the opening whence flows the air.

  2. Visit your local grocer or produce stand and acquire some appropriately sized oranges, with a diameter to not quite overmatch the measurement from Step 1.

  3. Cram the orange in said opening and aim at the nearest wayward teen.

  4. Depress the trigger in an aggresssive manner. This is key. You do NOT want to half-ass it. Jam that fucker all the way down.

  5. Shoot some trees now so you can enjoy making marmelade-flavored havoc in peace; the teens having fled in panic.

[–] FundMECFSResearch@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Is it bad that I believed this until I got to Marcus

[–] Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org 4 points 11 months ago

You think he couldn't be a car driver?

[–] MadMadBunny@lemmy.ca 4 points 11 months ago

[–] ICastFist@programming.dev 3 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Unless Dawn is planning on making sites like this, she deserves more oranges

The OwO omg should be banned, too

[–] semperverus@lemmy.world 1 points 11 months ago

That reminds me of the old Maddox.xmission website

[–] Bebopalouie@lemmy.ca 2 points 11 months ago

Someone should start shooting him with a similar fruit or veg gun.

[–] Kennystillalive@feddit.org 2 points 11 months ago

Marcus having big dreams.

I love the subtle implication that it's unusual for men to be doctors. It's almost a "Skinwalker Phrasing", where you know what they mean, but it sounds off. It sounds like it's fine on first read, but that's because you're associating "Male Doctor" with the phrase "Male Nurse" which makes more sense as while doctor is seen a gender neutral profession, being a nurse while not strictly forbidding men, is along with secretary, nanny, teacher, and stewardess, seen as "Women's Work" in the patriarchal social structure which most cultures live in. Despite the fact that men do fill those roles all the time.

Well maybe not Nanny sadly, as society with its "Women are victims, Men are predators" mindset eyes any man who volunteers himself in the care of children with suspicion. Something that I, as a transwoman who was falsely accused as a guy, am well aware of.

...I legitimately forgot what the fuck I was talking about when I started babbling about gender roles.

On that note, thankfully I can't think of any job (outside of US President apparently, seriously Trump is preferrable to any woman? That's really the precedent we've set? What the shit America) that is typically seen as male exclusive. Something I definitely couldn't say as recently as 20 years ago.
