Pretty fucked, would recommend going to a doctor and checking for hearing loss

WHAT?!?! Get a decent over the ear noise cancelling headphone and go see the doctor.
Get some ANC headphones or buds
Tbh, I think this is highly inaccurate. If you have your phone connected to your car using bluetooth or a dac it also gives you messages about your volume constantly if you have it on 100% and on like 10% on your radio.
You said airpods, It's possible they're all gunked up and 92db is way quieter. Likely if they are Non pro. If not, then you're screwed

Background: Am in NYC and take the subway every day. Couldn’t really hear the music so whenever I’m in the train, I always turn it up to the max volume. FWIW, I use my Airpods. Been doing some research and just realized how harmful this is. I’ve set my phone to limit it to the lowest level at 75 dB … and I can barely hear the music. I mean I hear it but I can’t feel the music: the bass, the instruments, the reverb. Do I just accept this limit and deal with the subway noises forever? Feels like it’s a lose-lose situation either way because I’m sure the subway noises themselves are audibly louder and therefore are causing issues as well
Holy, go to the doctor. And then buy some ANC buds or headphones to use on trains
Check with your ear doctor.
Well. On the plus side - you don’t need to worry about noisy neighbors 🤷♂️
I recommend noise cancellation! it will increase the noise floor you can audibly hear thus making your audio clear to you at lower volumes.
You are fucked.
Does everything sound a little clogged? Do you have trouble telling the difference between consonants? If yes then your fricked.
If no, then consider this a close call and start getting used to lower volume for the sake of your ears!
You're more than likely have a small amount of hearing damage. Go get it checked out if you literally can't understand people in conversations!!
The OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit for noise is 90 dB averaged over an 8 hour work day- 5 days a week, for 40 years. If I'm reading this right, you've been exposed to an average of 92 over the course of 26 days and 6 hours in 2022. Which is way below the total time of 86.6 days spent in an average work year. So you should be below the Permissible Exposure Limit all in all. I'd still get an ANC set and lower the volume, but I doubt you're fucked
DUDE GET CHECKED!!!!!! , IM SCREAMING BTW!!
Bro 92 db is crazy loud ,you need a ears check ,dont go over 80-85
P.s buy some iems…
These are petty arbitrary, maybe you're fine. Your phone has no clue how loud the earbuds actually are it's just guessing
Its tinnitus now, then deafness, then a choclear later in life then deafness again.
Get some over ear cup headphones. Like the ones used at racetracks. Blocks ambient noise so you can listen at low volume.
What program is this?
If you are using you headphones in public, then ignore everything but anc. Usually we recomend some fancy audiophile shit, but just ignore that and get anc. It’ll save your ears
small wireless ear buds can also fit underneath passive over the ear noise protection earmuffs (eg 3M Peltor X5A)
We found that one guy on every train/bus blasting their music so loud everyone else can hear it and identify the song.
Your not that fucked. I've been listening to loud music forever. It's very much from person to person. But then I work in a pizza place the fecking oven gets to 80-85db on a good day.
Is there a way to check this on Android? I've always wondered how loud I'm actually listening at. I'm never close to max volume but still wouldn't mind knowing.
My health app shows similar values.
The problem is that I max out the system volume to control it with my Fiio BTR5 and iOS thinks I'm listening to ~100dB all the time. Same thing with the Apple dongle and inefficient headphones.
Which headphones? That calculation only works on Apple headphones and beats.
Man that’s not a joke. Seriously. It’s causing permanent damage. If you love music than take care of your ears. There’s no fixing it once it damaged. Tinnitus is forever.
I was a DJ for 25 years, spinning 5 days a week at 95-110 dB….always had a monitor next to my head. I have minimal hearing loss, around 5%.
Very fucked. That’s insanely loud.
i go through NYC often enough and i almost never had to increase my volume over 60% when using second gen airpods. OP might seriously want to check out the ears and get some noise cancellation headphones
Any advice on a good app to use on measuring this? I'm curious about mine.
92 db is noisy, but there are worse things. The duration of exposure must also be taken into account.
Eeeeeeee
I’m a musician but for a lot of my high school years would play music pretty loud. Now I deal with slight hearing loss in my right ear and tinnitus which keeps me up at night when I try to sleep. Take care of your ears, you never know what you have until it’s gone.
if you want to be deaf keep going
How do you see this?
Unsure of what this stuff is and means, I did check the health app and apparently for me it’s at 69dB. Is that an okay number? I usually just have my earbuds at half volume, the occasional 75% or max depending on the volume for some videos with low audio. My highest was like 76dB but for other months, it’s mostly in thev60’s and some in the 70’s
Next time you hear "Knock-knock-knockin' on heaven's door", it might be Mr. Tinnitus knocking on your door.
My ears start hurting at 82. How!?
That’s worse than my average for working in a fabrication shop that maxes my Apple Watch out daily (120db) my average for the year is 85db, and I wear custom earplugs
Dudeeeee, i cant even go past 57db cause its loud enough, wtf 90db is crazy .
My Db range is 49-53
How many hours a day? 85dB will deafen you over 8 hours.
WHAT????
Good luck becoming Helen Keller
can you even hear a concert anymore? please let us know, for science!
