Depends on if you value shooting (Fox) or defense (Wall). I think Fox is actually better now but his reputation has not caught up with his ability yet.

Fox is a better shooter, better defender and better in the clutch. I don't think it's close.

[–] DonutBoy182@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Its really close. Wall is better passer, fox better shooter. I'd lean towards Fox

Prime Wall is much much better. Injuries prevented him from being a top 10 player of all time unfortunately. He was trending towards becoming one of the best players in the league before he got injured.

I really thought that Wizard's team was going to evolve into perennial contenders. What a dumbass lol

Prime wall was a fucking monster, he was faster than literally everyone and even had a jumper for a couple years

If I'm going for a YouTube highlight reel, I'd pick Wall. If trying to win, I'm taking Fox

I’m taking Fox. Walls defense when he was younger was great but wasn’t as impactful his prime years. Better than fox but I think the difference on offense is bigger. Walls playmaking is overlooked however he’s better there too but I think fox just has a huge edge on offense

Fox has him in scoring, shooting and yes clutch play. Wall better defender, passer, rebounder, slightly more athletic. Depends what you want really but there's an argument for both.

Wall, he was a worse scorer but better at everything else.

[–] BcuzRacecar@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

wall was a bad scorer but was doing pg stuff getting 10+ ast multiple seasons in a row. Fox doesnt do that. They arent as comparable as both being fast guards suggest.

Idk but wall changed a franchise completely. Fox is great at the same time tho that franchise really changed when Sabonis got there. As soon as wall left we saw what happened in dc.

fox can score efficiently

[–] Yoquetal@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

John Wall was a dawg

[–] tondolliver31@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Fox. Fox is fucking scary. Wall was great but I'm no sure he was ever consistently at that point where he could take over games by himself.

Wall was definitely a better passer/defensive player, but Fox is probably the guy I'd want on my team for a big game or playoff series.

Man what the hell happened to wall. He was a pure playmaker in Washington and then when he went to the rockets his game changed to score first

[–] jortsboy@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Got repeated bad injuries in Washington, never returned to peak form, and then got traded to Houston as a tank commander/ to ride the bench.

i think about prime john wall a lot. idk why

[–] 43_Hobbits@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Me too man…me too

[–] radpandaparty@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wall honestly.

[–] PolarBearLaFlare@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wall was the flashier scorer but Fox plays a lot more efficiently

Gang sign John wall was next level imo

[–] trevortins@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Prime wall was a better point guard but fox is a better shooter than him.

[–] Dependent-Crow-280@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wall is the better playmaker, and overall athlete.

Prime Wall > Fox

[–] Madterps2021@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wall was better, I am going to say it. Man came back from a broke hand to play in the playoffs against the Hawks. That was like MJ's flu game.

[–] mmaguy123@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Prime wall over fox but fox isn’t in his prime yet.

[–] ZeroShins@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Very contextual. I think if you put prime Wall on this Kings team and current Fox on the '16-17 Wizards both teams get worse.

[–] BStone1824@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The thing people are forgetting too is that Fox hasn’t even hit his ceiling yet and he’s already this good. He’s getting more finesse and skill every year. It’s easy to retrospectively base an opinion when you’ve seen someone’s prime and peak, But Fox is already unguardable and the fastest in the NBA and his basketball IQ and athletic ability are insane. The future is bright for Fox. He just needs more moments to shine in the spotlight with eyes on him for him to get the recognition he deserves.
