Box Score

PJ Tucker struggled mightily against the Rockets tonight: 15 MINS, 0 PTS, 0 REB, 0 AST, 0 STL, 0 BLK, 3 PF, -24 +/-. He is a cumulative -61 in his tenure as a Clipper.

So when they say PJ Tucker "does all the little things" what do they mean exactly?

It hurts to say because eff the Heat, but I wish he'd never left the Heat. Spoelstra used him so well and had him doing actual basketball stuff and then he went to the 76ers and it was back to being sit in the corner and defend.

He was super inflential in our playoff run to the championship and got him a ring though.

I guess I dont know his heat days and ive only mildly pay attention to him when we play him, hes definitely not a box score friendly player and certianly has his roles lol.

[–] Neuroxex@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He was definitely a large part of the championship, won't ever dispute that, he just had a very, very limited role on the Bucks and it was fun to see him get to play outside of rebounding and standing in the corner not shooting.

Heat PJ was one of my favorite role players ever. He was awesome that whole year and it feels like a crime that he wasn’t a Heat guy for more than one season.

[–] MellowMuttley@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

It was a match made in Heaven. I grateful for what we were able to get out of him in that one year.

[–] Public-Product-1503@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Heat did that stuff because they don’t have offensive star creator more overall good player types. Running offence through pj is never ideal pretty sure heat defence has always led the way . Pj is just mega washed

76ers knew we needed another marcus morris

He's 38 dude. Had no business being in the league this long in the first place.

[–] porncollecter69@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Dude won a championship as a contributor. He’s found his role early and did it well. That’s what gets you paid long term.

[–] c_ray25@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Idk if he necessarily found his role early, he bounced around foreign countries for a bit before getting established in the nba

[–] MixonWitDaWrongCrowd@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Yeah that’s the problem

[–] Kamoner@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He played well in the playoffs last year and did the all shit in theory he’s supposed to. But he is not worth that contract and is mostly useless during a regular season

[–] SnooPies5622@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Michael Jordan hasn't won an NBA game in years. So when they say Michael Jordan "is the GOAT" what do they mean exactly?

[–] SonicdaSloth@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He was valuable in the playoffs for sixers last season.

He breaks free loose balls, makes the top scorers uncomfortable and gets in his teammates faces when needed. He even hit corner 3s in the game 6-7 losses. 5-13 from 3.

He just can’t do it all season.

[–] clayfu@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Playing in a lineup with a center and Westbrook is just a disaster for everyone.

[–] Steph-Paul@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

young rockets had him on his heels a lot, and dude was positively pissed by the end. his team still won the game

Ty can’t be stopped

Morey keeps winning

[–] nepats523@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Marcus Morris Sr.-Sr.

[–] KennySmithsKnees@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He's Unquestionably the worst player in the league

[–] watdapau@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Hes now the new Ty favorite. Why cant he let Tman play 35 mins. Russ will thrive together with Mann than a PJ zu pairing

[–] califournya@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

He wasn't honestly that bad. The biggest reason he shared his minutes with Westbrook when Harden wasn't on the floor. It wasn't pretty

[–] Ok-Tree4365@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Ty Lue was straight up saying before the game that he had a hard time deciding between Terance Mann and PJ Tucker as the starting Westbrook replacement. Anyone with a half-working eyeball can see that Tucker is BAD BAD BAD, especially when playing with Zubac. He should be out of the rotation completely, (especially with Theis now here), with Kobe Brown and Amir Coffey replacing his minutes.

[–] mr_robust@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Bum royalty

[–] Electronic-Doctor110@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I hate how people base his play off his name. Dude has been cooked ever since he defended KD in the nets and bucks series

[–] kokukojuto33@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Yeah...dont miss him at all

[–] SYSTEMcole@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

I think this is a good moment to bring up a comment I saw in the offseason saying PJ Tucker was more likely to average 20 PPG this year than Scottie Barnes making all-NBA. That is all.

[–] Skullripper675@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

still love the guy tbh

[–] KarlTuckerson@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

Morey giving PJ that contract and then trading him is mind boggling. Morey is either the dumbest or the shrewdest operator in the league. Guy has no middle ground

[–] Ramu_1798@alien.top 1 points 10 months ago

You just don't get it. He's going to clamp up Kd of defense in the playoffs and bring his average down from 39 ppg to 37.6 ppg.
