I just did this myself (between the 1815 Up/Down and FiftySix Complete Calendar). The VC has a really short power reserve which made the decision for Lange easier. The regular base FiftySix model does not have a Geneva seal and is not an in-house movement, so to me it cannot compete with the base 1815.

Both of those are in a completely different league than the JLC. If you can afford the VC or Lange then the JLC, while a fantastic watch, does not merit consideration.

The 1815. In yellow gold or platinum

JLC or Lange. VC I like the Overseas and that’s it.

Amazing choices. In the end all 3 are great so you can’t go wrong.

I have two of these (JLC & VC) and some Lange, though not 1815. I love JLC but I think the VC or Lange are on another level. Btw the 1815 and Fiftysix my preference would depend on model. For the base models or the annual/complete calendar I’d prefer the Fiftysix design. The 1815 up/down and VC day/date is a toss-up, I’d maybe lean 1815. The 1815 rattrapante or chronograph are in a class of their own among this group.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! Leaning towards the vc or a lange now…but have a lot more to research for which model 🤔
