I’d love this, but like Hero’s Path so it knows everywhere you’ve ever been, like the time I somehow made it back to Merton from wherever the night bus dropped me off drunk that time.

Did you really make it back fully, though? What did you leave behind that night?

... and/or aren't planning to go. I would love to get through Bloomington, IN without seeing the location of every Liquor store dotting my navigation screen. Can't be personalized, as I basically never visit Liquor stores.

Only if I get achievements for uncovering large segments of my map, probably by neighborhood.

Mobile OSM is a bit like that when it hasn't downloaded the tiles for the regions you don't usually go to.

Have they never left that circle ever?

This has never crossed my mind. I wouldn’t mind an irl open world with an open map option and fog of war.

Edit: grammar error

I'm in, can I do this now? I'm very far from home at the moment

Yes Alex, can I buy a pixel?

[–] thatradomguy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Why can't they just do it like the indexer and work on it like hyperlinks? Blue for not seen and purple for where you've been. Done.

I stumbled upon someone online who was making just that. Then they dropped it. Don't remember who it was, but I looked for them from time to time on Nitter (prolly had on browser bookmarks)
