Last year the Lions were 1-6 heading into week 9. They went 8-2 the rest of the way. Which team, with a horrible record right now, do you think will finish the season off strong and be a spoiler along the way?

Last year the Dolphins were 8-3 heading into week 13 and then finished off with 5 straight losses, almost missing the playoffs. Which team, with a great record right now, do you think will end the year with a bad streak of losses?

My fear is that my Lions are about to come up against a bunch of bad losses. 5 divisional games (which always can go either way) two of which are against the Vikings who are putting together a streak and getting healthy plus 2 more against the Bears who have a mobile QB that seem to give the Lions D fits. Plus the Cowboys! Maybe its the 30 year Detroit fan in me expecting the worst, but I fear them even losing the division. Its set up too perfectly for us Lions fans to have the proverbial "ball pulled out by Lucy" in week 16-18.

I’m here for the comments that are picking totally expected teams to do well & expected collapses. My picks: buccaneers make a run (not just division title, threat for bye) & Dolphins have their annual Hanukkah collapse

[–] clegg2011@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Not the Cowboys. Any collapse will be 27 years in the making expected.

[–] Hey_Its_Walter1@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I would like to watch the Colts go on a run and see Gardner Minshew holding the Super Bowl trophy at the end. So much unwarranted disrespect towards that man.

[–] Nasty_Tricks69@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

5 divisional games (which always can go either way)

The rest of the division is literal diarrhea. Lions got the division under lock and key

[–] Menace_17@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Ngl as bad as the broncos started i could still see them finding a way into the playoffs cause theyve been looking way better lately

[–] Dr_McGillicuddys@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I’ve watched the Ravens lose so many fourth quarter huge leads in the last few years. A lot of it is boneheaded coaching by harbaugh but I could see us completely imploding this second half

Bucs go on a run, Jaguars lose a bunch of games, but it won't be a full on collapse

[–] skindarklikemytint@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

The Commanders.

Late run: Minnesota. They are the best team in the North right now and once Jefferson is back, it's over. They MIGHT have a tough time in Denver tomorrow night but after that I think they run the table, including twice against Detroit.

Collapse: Detroit. Their defense is still one of the worst in the NFL and their schedule isn't as easy as previously thought. They face Chicago twice, and Fields in the past has torched this defense. Denver has seemingly got their act together after that embarrassment against the Dolphins so that could be a trap game for Detroit. New Orleans isn't terrible and have a solid WR corps that can easily embarrass Detroit's secondary. The Dallas game of course is an automatic loss for Detroit. I'm thinking Minnesota finishes the season 12-5 while the Lions collapse down the stretch and finish 9-8 while they limp into the final wild card seed participation trophy via tiebreaker like they did in 2016.

Well I consider the Lions as one of the SB contenders, so if Dobbs beats yall we can at least appreciate the hell of a story he's writing

[–] JozzifDaBrozzif@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Broncos. Defense has figured it out, Russ playing really good, Javonte getting healthy.

Put in my 5 year old cousin at qb and the patriots might actually win a game

[–] iloveeveryfbteam@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I don’t even want to think it into existence

[–] yungredosrs@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Denver and Houston have favorable schedules down the stretch and could get hot if they stay healthy.

[–] bornfreebubblehead@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

The Lions are interesting and I honestly don't know what to think yet. First I'm a Vikings fan so my opinion is slanted. However the last two seasons, I've said several times the Lions were better than their record indicated. This year I'm not certain they are as good as their record. I do think they're good, but with the exception of week 1, when they play good teams they look bad. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if they lost the first round or make it to the NFC championship or even the Super Bowl. I don't expect my team in the SB but I do think that how they're playing right now, they could potentially make it to the second round in the playoffs.

If I had to bet money today, I'd say Ravens and Eagles, but I don't think anyone would be surprised by that.

[–] Alonso_The_GOAT@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I don't know man, I just don't see the Lions losing more than one game in the four games against vikings and Bears. I think clinching the division is not only realistic, it's almost a sure thing.

[–] orzhovedh@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

it's Dobbs time

[–] nickstee1210@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I’ve said it once I’ll say it again the jets limp to getting Aaron Rodgers back win 4 games to go 11-6 and win the Super Bowl

[–] MaxPowerDC@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

49ers next loss will be in the preseason next year.

[–] Nasty_Tricks69@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

You guys are under the Kirk Cousins curse. No super bowl win for San Fran this year

[–] ryanino@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I honestly think we’re toast and will go 6-11

[–] LipEyebrow@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Broncos about to win it all just you wait and see

[–] TheOmenCow@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I’m too used to pain to say the Texans could go on a run but the jags and bills seem to be slipping and the bengals lost their QB, I don’t think winning the AFC south or securing a wildcard spot seems too crazy with the easy schedule ahead of us.

Outside of the homer pick, I see Denver figuring it out and Miami once again collapsing in the AFC

In the NFC I think the cowboys collapse and the Rams making a run

[–] prenderm@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I think Denver has a lot of momentum right now. And maybe the Texans as well

Could be fun

[–] SeriousJokester37@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I really wanna say Pittsburgh, but knowing the luck of being a fan of them, something will go sideways😂

[–] Sorry-Spite9634@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I think the late run candidates are the Bills and Chargers. Seahawks Browns, and Steelers for the collapse.

[–] kamekaze1024@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (2 children)

Ravens collapse. Texans rise (if they don’t count then it’s the raiders or chargers. But the patriots would be hilarious)

If the Commanders didn’t have such a brutal schedule I’d say them.

[–] Wernershnitzl@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Remember when we were considered to have a “brutal schedule” early on in the season?

Which the record shows that it was tough but as typical Vikings games go, we shot ourselves in the foot with turnovers.

The team that’s actually on a three game win streak with a losing record does not even get mentioned

The Jets will get the Wild Card and Aaron will comeback in time to win it all

[–] JasonPlattMusic34@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

The way the Steelers schedule shapes up, they’re looking like they’ll finish the same way as last year’s Vikings, 13-4 and then probably lose a freak game in the Wild Card round lol

Buffalo and Cincy are probably both missing the playoffs now, with the Burrow injury and Josh Allen playing like he’s injured, and both teams have brutal schedules. I could see both finish with 10 losses

[–] Annual-Sympathy-4934@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

IDK how wild this is but the Broncos are making the playoffs. Vikings and Josh Dobbs will still be solid but not good enough to overcome an incomplete team and they will lose more close games

[–] Stealthychicken85@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

My vote is either Jaguars or Seahawks

[–] birdinthird@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Bears will have a winning record the rest of the way. Don't ask me why I think this. I simply know it to be true.
