Where does Mido fit in here?

Jacob & Co - Great AP - Meh

Hublot does not deserves to be in same class as gucci and versace. I know that hublot is overpriced but the quality is not bad as a Chinese 20$ watch.

Omega is definitely not β€œideal cost” anymore. Their QC is also questionable.

I’m always surprised to see Mido missing from lists like this

[–] wasab1_vie@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

You Summed Up my thoughts for AP perfectly

[–] philbart_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

What does whelming mean?

[–] MaverickDxb@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Are Hamiltons seriously in the bang for buck category. I love their watches but I always thought of them as more statement pieces, combat watches

[–] EnjoyMyInSec@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I saw bad tierlists but this is probably the worst rofl.

[–] Midnight_Maverick@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I feel like that's slightly harsh on Tissot? Maybe somewhere between whelming and bang for buck

While they have a few respectable models in their lineup, it's weird seeing Bulova next to them.

JLC needs to be in the same tier as Patek and Lange, I don’t care what anybody says

[–] HeftyArgument@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Richard Mille needs to be in the "WHY" category

Change RM to meh watches for FU money and I agree with everything stated here

[–] TheGrandStander11@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Jacob and Co are barely watches

[–] NateDogg2289@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Where's Mido?

[–] strejle@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

San Martin great bang for buck maybe the best in affordable watch world imo

Americans ideas of what counts as middle class are wild

Orient, particularly the Bambino is probably may favourite watch if you want to give off the upper middle class professional look. Automatic movement, elegant, and incredibly priced

[–] frat105@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

An income of $200k, anywhere in the US, is solidly upper class, not upper middle class. Just FYI.

I believe this hierarchy reflects little more than the OP's financial situation. It biases the entire list.

[–] kosnosferatu@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It more reflects the fact that OPs wife is extremely frugal!

[–] hogwldfltr@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I'm married to a frugal lady as well; she's loved the luxury watches I've bought her though!!

[–] kosnosferatu@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

You're lucky! Mine would tell me to return it 🀣

[–] Cosmographed@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I normally hate these lists and while I don’t agree with everything (j&co specifically - unless we are talking last 3 years billionaire shit j&co) this one is kind of a refreshing take. Also β€˜whelming’ made me giggle
