You're lucky! Mine would tell me to return it ๐Ÿคฃ

It more reflects the fact that OPs wife is extremely frugal!

My buddy and I are going to London on a boys trip over new years and I wanted a fun watch to bring on vacation and when this came up on r/Watchexchange I just had to have it!

I tend to buy watches when I go on trips as a momento, so bringing this cheap quartz was ideal!

I don't know why you are being downvoted for being able to do math

Interesting I haven't seen any posts with issues with their qc. I have seen more posts though around tudor and flaking lume Etc.

Nope it provides the value the cost would indicate

Oh man, now I am absolutely going to post more tier lists. One just for you!

I'm always interested at the kind of person who feels the need to engage in something online that they completely disagree or think is terrible, and then the need to do it rudely. Are you this way in real life, too? I'm genuinely curious.

Oh, interesting! Well, I'm glad you can wear the watch you like without issue!

And I agree with your point on AP/VC, etc, that's why I place them low on the tier list.

I did say upper-middle professional and $200K+ as a household. That could be well-paid middle management in a corporation, lawyer, small business owner, or two spouses making close to $100K.

Admit my US bias though, for sure.

I don't care for them either, especially for the cost! Though, my buddy has a Radiomir GMT Alarm from the early 2000s and it's very cool!

haha watches that give you value but also cost what you'd expect them to. They aren't a great value proposition but also aren't offensively expensive.

OK, which segment would you have it in, or create?

Having a gratitude practice is really important to me but I knew that sometimes remembering to do it could be difficult, so I made it part of my daily habit of winding my Speedmaster.

Every morning when I pick up my watch and wind it, I like to think of it as giving myself time (disclaimer, not my concept, stole it from some other redditor) and time specifically to think about the things, people, etc that I'm grateful for!

Winding a watch is a nice tactile way to connect to the mechanics of my watch, but it's really the intentional taking of a minute to be mindful that I really cherish.

Who else loves a manual wind watch?

My almost 6 year old son said the magic words, "Dad, I want to wear a watch!" so I gave him my Timex and he loves the indiglo! I'm wearing my g shock metal mod. I've got an Omega for each of my three kids that they will get eventually, a midsize seamaster my father wore, a new seamaster pro in black, and a 3861 Speedmaster Hesalite. My eldest daughter also told me that she wants to, "wear a man's watch" ๐Ÿ˜…

What watches do your kids wear??

I said to myself that I'd try and get a Neptune just to be a bit silly. You know, plastic watch with plastic crystal in funky color. Horribly loud quartz and misaligned hands. And I finally got one and I stuck an Omega strap on it.

But I was driving my daughter to Starbucks (blegh) and I noticed that the blue is really quite pretty. The shade of the blue on the dial is almost like a Tardis blue! And the warm reflections on the acrylic crystal reminds me of my hesalite.

I think I might really like this, after all...

Casio M5610U with a metal mod I picked up for $99 and I love it! Pick up and go with never a care for durability or accuracy. World time across 5 presets, that you can swap back and forth with your home time at a press of buttons, solar powered, and radio receiving for auto updating of time and date.

What's your cheapest watch in your collection?
