Looks like a solid choice. Citizen is a great brand and they are famous for their solar movements. Love the color too. Only doubt would be the dimension: from the photo it looks pretty big, if it's too big it might be less versatile than you'd want from an only watch collection.

I was jonesing for This Citizen Eco-Drive for a few years before I bought it, it has been a champ and never shown any signs of giving me any problems, I dirt bike, 3 gun competition (holds up to shot gunning fine) light outdoor climbing.
The ONLY issue I have comes from my daily GOTO watches are Casio Multiband6 watches that sync nightly to the atomic clock in Ft. Collins CO. which shows me the Citizen is gaining a few seconds a week and it bothers me to know that.
Without the Multiband6 to compare to it would be my ABSOLUTE favorite watch I own, but it sucks that I find myself ALWAYS comparing them to each other and having to re-hack the Citizen to the Casio's.
Yah it's me.. but other than my own personal issue go for it! The Citizen has been an excellent watch in every other way.
I got the older version of this watch in black as my first real watch in the mid 00s. Freaking love it. Put it on a nato strap since the rubber one was starting to degrade a bit and lose it's stretch. The watch is easily 15 years old and still working fine, battery is probably a little weaker than it used to be but I just throw it in the windowsill every few weeks and it's fine. Movement is still accurate to within 30 seconds or so per month. I love the look of the case with the colorway through it, makes it look more industrial than just a plane case style
Citizens are nice, but huge. Make sure it fits you well before buying. I got one as a gift, and it's a daily now, works perfectly well, looks decent, but also quite big for me!
I have that watch in that color. Big but not unwieldily in my opinion. That started me on the Eco Drive rabbit hole. Strap is decent but stiff. If course, that can be changed.
I have this watch and I wouldn’t recommend it.
- the price isn’t that great; a couple of years ago when I got mine, it was $120 on Amazon and $160 directly from Citizen (where I got it)
- it’s surprisingly heavy for its size, making it less comfortable to wear
- the lug width is a curious 23mm, so if you want to swap for something else—I have a Barton silicone on mine—you’re likely buying new straps whose size doesn’t fit much else
- the lume is poor (neither the numerals nor the stick indices are lumed, only the hands and the little dots outboard of the 10-11, 1-2, 7-8, and 4-5)
Good stuff is the dial is mesmerizing and fun in the sunlight. And the hands are painted white so it’s very legible during the day.
It’s definitely a sporty watch, but the polished sides and blue plastic on the case make it less appealing to me.
Overall it’s still in the collection, but if I could do it over, I’d pass. I think Citizen offers a lot more appealing watches, especially in this price range.
Hope that helps. 👍
I have one very similar to that one. It was a great watch, but the band broke after 5 years or so.
That said, eco drive watches are great. They run forever and they're affordable.
This is a nice looking watch. I have it saved on Amazon too lol I have a Citizen Nighthawk that I got off Amazon and I love it.
trash
It looks like it wears really large
I just bought it cause of you. Great looking watch for a daily driver
Way too big, unless you have an 8" plus wrist.
Edit: Most non-watch people would think that's expensive, and almost none of my watches cost me that much.
Get a model w sapphire glass at least, Citizens mineral glass scratches easily.
That's a great looking watch. The only caveat I'd make is the size might be too big for you. It's a 45 mm case. I have a 6.3 in wrist, 42 mm seems to be the largest that works for me. I have a 43 mm diver and that's a little for me.
If your wrist is bigger, or you like a large watch, then go for it.

I have an eco drive with a perpetual calendar and I love it. My only beef with it is if it loses its charge, it is a humongous pain in my ass to set again lol. This will not be an issue with your pick thankfully.
It's an Amazon black Friday deal right now for 137. Check it out.
