I saw this post a year ago, & wanted to see if thoughts have changed.

Giannis:

22.8 PPG, 9.6 RPG, 4.7 APG, 1.1 SPG, 1.3 BPG 53.8% FG & 28.7% 3P

Dirk:

1x Champion 1x Finals MVP 14x All Star 4x All NBA 1st team 5x All NBA 2nd team 3x All NBA 3rd team 1x 50/40/90 club 1x 3 Point Contest Champ 1x teammate of the year 75th anniversary team

20.7 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 2.4 APG, .8 SPG, .8 BPG, 47.1% FG & 38% 3P

Obviously it’s pretty close, both great players. Grew up loving Dirk & I love Giannis’ game as well. Just want to see if a year has changed many peoples minds with the first round loss to the heat & the additional All NBA first team & All Star

Giannis is already better than Dirk and will clear him. Same with Jokic.

Both are better scorers, rebound better and have an x-factor that Dirk did not have. Giannis gives you elite defense while Jokic gives you elite playmaking

Recency bias is a hell of a drug. Giannis currently has more points, steals, blocks, rebounds, all stars, all nba 1st teams & all defensive teams.

That being said, Jokic could for sure pass him up if he keeps up the pace he’s been on the past 3 years

Dirk is just a bit more impressive than Giannis when you set the numbers aside.

Dirk was far less athletically gifted and nurse knee injuries during most of his prime and still shined

Knowing what I know right now, I’d draft Dirk without any hesitation.
