Hello, guys. I am new here :) Last three years i use audio-technica m40x with fiio k5 pro. I like this headphones but i want something better and with open backs. Right now i choose between three models: beyerdynamics dt990 or dt 900 pro x and sennheizer hd6xx. I have budget 200-300$.

I read a lot about dt990. Seems some people love this cans and some ppl - hate. I definitely like theу old-school design. DT 900 Pro x - new model, but how much it better then DT990? Its worth pay more then $100 for 900 pro x ?

HD6xx - its looks like this cans have rly neutral sound. A lot ppl prise them but some dont like it - they call them boring. And i see a lot ppl say HD6XX bad for games. It is true?

Right now i use headphones mostly for music, but sometimes play some games, so if HD6xx rly bad for games - i can keep use my M40X (i like them in games).

What you pick if you must choose between this models ? And sry for my english, not my native language.

This submission has automatically been removed due to the following rule:

Rule 2: Ask purchase and shopping questions in the Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk

Requests for product opinions, comparisons, and general purchase advice must be made in the dedicated Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk instead of a new post.

Portable audio related purchase advice may also be asked in r/HeadphoneAdvice but please familiarize yourself with their rules first.

What questions are considered purchase advice?

  • A request for product suggestions, comparison requests, or opinion requests fall under the purchase advice rule. These can often be found by searching first.

  • Any suggestion or comparison request pertaining to headphones, IEMs, DACs, amps, or other accessories should be directed to the purchase help thread or r/headphoneadvice.

  • Asking the subreddit to help make a decision to buy a product does fall under this rule (e.g. "should I get dekoni pads for my HD650?").

Why does this rule even exist?
