I got the immigration stamp on arrival for 180 days on Nov 14th 2023, but the exit date written is Dec 1st 2023.I'm an Indian citizen with a US tourist visa.

Anyone faced something similar? How did you end up resolving it?

Sometimes they screw you like that, giving you less than the 6 months you can get. This has been happening more recently.

There isn't really anything you can do about it.

You need to talk with a Mexican Immigration officer to find out how you were processed. And go from there. Just because you went there intending to go on a 180 visa doesn't mean that they can't place a time restriction on how long you can stay in the country.

As others have said, 180 days isn't guaranteed. It will likely be very difficult to change after the fact, and they'll probably grill you about onward travel. This has been an issue for years and years now.

cost of overstaying is low, it seems (less than $600 pesos) risk vs reward.
