I'm perfectly happy with people selling their EF glass. It works perfectly with my R3. I can't see selling the old stuff.
Photography
A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.
This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.
I don’t have experience with the TAMRON, but those other two lenses are pretty mid. I’d sell them and get one interesting prime like a 35 or 50 Zeiss classic (or even an adapted contax yaschica) for the 5d.
Had them both and used them a bit but moved on.
Sounds like you'd be better off selling that stuff. I don't hold on to unnecessary gear, if I haven't used something in a couple months and can't think of a use then I sell it. Sometimes people ask me if I have any old cameras/lenses they can buy/borrow, assuming I must have a lot of unused stuff, but I never have anything I'd be willing to sell.
I still have a couple EF lenses though. The EF 35mm f/2 IS; works great on my Canon R and I occasionally use the old film EOS cameras so still use it (I think those film cameras are the main reason to keep any EF lenses). And the other is the EF-S 55-250mm; mostly because I haven't gotten around to getting an RF 70-200mm, but also because it's still a great lens and works well on the Canon R despite being cropped. I also use it on my Canon M6 with the adapter too.
If you are shooting exclusively with RF bodies and you need the weight savings from not carrying EF glass, then by all means sell your EF glass whilst it's still worth a fair bit (especially the L glass).
If you are shooting a mix of RF and EF bodies (even if you just keep an EF body as a backup in case your RF body dies a sad death on a shoot), then you need to keep at least a couple of EF lenses around to use with it. No point having a backup body with no glass to use on it.
If you have EF lenses for which there isn't a viable RF replacement (and 'viable' might simply mean 'I can't afford it yet'), then keep your EF glass and use it with an adapter.
I shoot mostly with an RF body, but I still have my 6D2 and 90D bodies, and I still use them for some scenarios where their attributes are beneficial to me. The APS-C, for example, gives me a useful crop factor for daylight aviation photography (air shows etc.), and I still find I get better results with a true optical viewfinder than an EVF, even as good as they are these days.
I'm about to make the switch to an R5C as I need to incorporate video into my workflow, I plan on keeping my 5D2 as a backup body, keep the EF-L lenses as they still perform very well with an adapter from what I've read, and buy/replace with RF lenses as necessary. I don't see any value in keeping a body for its in camera processing treatments unless you really don't want to spend time editing. I can give any raw digital photo "film like qualities" in post, and you can probably find presets for any specific film type. What I want from a body is resolution, low noise, af accuracy, and good dynamic range. I don't care how it wants to process colours since I'm going to fine tune them anyway and I just want the most possible information to work with.
I'm probably buying an R3 next spring and have zero plans to get rid of my 16-35/2.8 III or 70-200/2.8 II. My issue with my current body was the autofocus and other SLR-specific things, not the glass. I think a lot of GAS people diagnose the wrong issue.
If anything, I'll probably get another EF piece.
Where are people talking about film-like qualities of a 6D? It was just an entry level full frame DSLR, and I just stopped using it professionally a few months ago. Shooting an R6mkii and it’s better in every single way.
I literally gave it to a friend and refused payment for it. These nostalgia trends are weird.

Because I don't think it's worth that much in good condition. Mine is not in that condition
You can get EF to RF adapters. That way you'll get the best of both worlds - modern when you want it, filmic when you're nostalgic :)
I have 1 Sony and 1 Panasonic body, and I just bought an EF 24-105L cause I can use it on both with adapters.

I'm in the same boat 😅 upgraded from a 6D to an R6. I don't mind replacing the 50mm but I have a 24-70L and a 100L. I really don't want to spend the money for an RF 24-70 and I've heard the 100 isn't great. I don't mind using them with the converter but I don't like the bulk it adds soooo I don't know what to do

Get rid of EF gear?
I still have a bunch of FD lenses.
I have 5D4 and trilogy EF L 2.8 lens and 100-400 IS II and still using nowadays for serious hobby, traveling.
The reasons I don't move to R series yet because it will have to spend a lot of money and my credit card will screaming again for a whole year.
I rather spend my money to something else, coz my 5D and those EF lens still rock.
Maybe when R5 mark II come out I might have a look on it.
One think I like about the non-mirrorless cameras is the superior battery life. I take my 6D to camping trips and I can shoot hundreds or thousands pictures for days straight before switching to the second battery. (I keep the digital display off most of the time, and wait till I get home to browse the pics.)
