Nah give me OKC. I want shai on my backyard. Ja Moron also had a gun controversy and injury as well. People still love him though
NBA - Main
Game analysis, highlights and everything else that is happening in the NBA.
Aren’t the gun laws really strict in Canada? Not sure that would mesh with this roster.
David Stern wasnt fucking with the PNW teams
LOL
Grizz are so bad we gotta deport them
I haven’t been to Vancouver in a while but has your city figured out left turn lanes yet? If not, you can have your team back once you figure out left turn lanes.
The Grizzlies literally don’t have their walking highlight reel of a superstar in Ja Morant, the rest of the team has underperformed this year and Memphis isn’t a particularly large market with a ton of disposable income. No one is spending their money to watch Desmond Bane by himself. I wish the Grizzlies never moved, but it’s not fair to criticize Memphis when their team isn’t even worth watching.
League swung too far when it removed two teams from the Pacific Northwest in a span of 7 years. But it would be swinging too far back if it put two more teams back there when there are already rumblings of a new team in Seattle.
I agree
wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy but at least yours and other vancouver fans’ feelings are justified. same for seattle fans. in a perfect world we would all get our own teams some day.
hey OP, sending good vibes your way. this post feels like transference - is everything okay? I'm here if you want to talk about whatever it is that's really bothering you
My only problem with it is that they didn’t change the name. Grizzly bears aren’t even in Memphis
No. Ja couldn't legal own a pistol there, so this will never work.
Where Adams goes, New Zealand will follow
After fees the tickets are still like $20 lol
I back this. Vancouver is dope and there ain't no Grizzlies in Memphis so the name is dumb as hell. They should have at least renamed the team.
Bruh it was 30 years
Do yoga or something. Holding this anger in for that long cant be good for you
Besides the attendance isnt an issue
Worst team in the league missing half the starting lineup?
Its fine. It would be a problem if they had bad attendance last two seasons. Pull up those numbers
Dont shoot the messenger but rumor has it that if Vegas expansion doesn't happen quickly enough they're gonna try and get a team to move in to the new place that a group of vegas developers are building. Wouldn't be shocked if the grizz are near the top of the list
It’s been over 20 years.
The Grizzlies are Memphis’s team now (technically Robert Petra’s), and as long as the owner is fine with having the team here then they’re not going to move. If Memphis’s attendance was truly a problem, then he would be the person most affected by that problem.
If Vancouver wants an NBA team, then they need to focus on getting an expansion team. Or just hope and prey that Pera decides he wants to move the team, but there’s no indication that’s the case, since there’s generally been a good relationship between the franchise and city leaders.
The Vancouver Grizzlies was the worst franchise in sports. The Memphis Grizzlies haven’t been great the whole time, but they’ve been a hell of a lot better than the Vancouver Grizzlies Memphis has always been a basketball town, and it makes sense to have an NBA team here. If you go into any bar in town, there’s a good chance you’ll see someone wearing griz gear, and that’s not always the case in a lot of other cities.
We love our Grizzlies here in Memphis, and they’re not going anywhere anytime soon.
Why would I go into your DM’s?
I’ve had the Grizzlies in my town for three times as long as you did.
In other words… scoreboard.
Ja Morant will not like the Canadian handgun policy
ain’t no way tickets r two dollars bro I feel like that’s not real . or there’s like ONE ticket that low
I've never met a Grizzlies fan in real life lmao 🤣🤣🤣
Take them to a REAL basketball place like Louisville KY. All them other fake ass hooping cities people throw out for expansion or relocating, sans Seattle, can hit the bricks.
I hate to be this way, but damn, Grizz fans are this blown by the wind. Your team has been awesome the last couple of years and y'all already are disinterested again? Yowza. Big Houston Rockets energy.
I literally can’t comprehend an under $20 ticket let alone $2, I would buy out my entire section.
Hmmmm. Pass.
Sales are down because we currently suck rn, there would be much less if it was in Vancouver lmfao
What players want to live in Vancouver???
The gun law probably helps Ja from acting the fool.
Also, really? The Grizz are fetching the same as a Costco hotdog? And still not drawing crowds? Damn.
Wouldn’t u need a passport to attend a game? Nobody wants to go to Vancouver from the US. Or maybe I’m wrong. Team back to Vancouver!
Good on OP looking out for the owners and stakeholders, someone’s gotta do it!
Edit: You Canadians should link up with Houston folks and form a little Hater Squad against Tennessee sports
I live in Vancouver and as much as I would love a team here, idk if it's feasible.
-
Our basketball culture is nothing like Toronto's or most US cities. You could argue that this is a chicken and egg situation, though.
-
Seattle is getting a team next year(?). We're too close to them.
-
The Raps would lose their reputation as "Canada's team".
-
Lots of NBA players absolutely hate the cold. Vancouver's pretty temperate but still...
I sat one row behind Courtside at a grizzlies game, 100$ for the tickets. Cheapest good seats I've ever had
/r/nba: memphis fans have such a victim complex they don't get any more hate than any other team
also /r/nba:
Lol, no
LOL you think NBA players on their pitiful mid-high 7 figure salaries can afford Vancouver rents?
The only problem with that is that with the two new teams coming (presumably Seattle and Vegas) Memphis is one of the teams that, geographically, is easy to move into the eastern conference. Does this actually matter, no. Could it influence anything, maybe. Plus, the whole issue that players don’t want to play for teams based outside of the US.
Well the majority of our "actually talented team" isn't playing right now. No shit people aren't buying tickets
Move them to Anchorage. I'd go to every game for $2
Now that the Canucks are exciting again they’re getting great turnout. A basketball team would definitely get a lot of energy right now. Plus there’s still so many people who were fans when they were here.
Vancouver’s stadiums are in a great spot people can take trains in from suburbs and get right to the door.
Not to mention how close it is to Seattle/Portland and the rest of western Canada. Lots of potential for rivalry and a big fan base to draw from.
let op cook
And while we’re at it, bring the bullets back to Baltimore. DC stole our team and the wizards suck
$2 ticket, and $60 fees lol
Vancouver is a world class city, it is criminal that they do not have a team while shit heaps like Oklahoma City and Memphis do. I feel the same about Seattle fwiw, ridiculous to move a historically successful team from a top-tier NA city to one of the worst states.
Lmao at Memphis “stealing” them.
You can do a quick Google search and see why they moved in the first place.
The NBA, including Stern himself, didn’t want them to move. It reflected badly on the NBA that the team was forced to move literally 5 years after expansion.
IDK man valid but like 8 years ago tickets for the Celtics were as low as $8, should they have sold the team? Probably
What the hell did this team do to y’all for you to hate them so much? From the how people are treating Dillon Brooks now that he’s not part of the Grizz to the JJJ stat padding nonsense to this stupidity, it’s like they fucked your wives or something
Ja is not gonna like those pesky Canadian gun laws & regulations
